Looking to keep their regularly wet basement dry, this Waterville, ME homeowner called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems for their free estimate. Liking what we could offer them, they hired us right away to solve their moisture problems. First, to create a barrier protecting against leaking water, both a WaterGuard piping system and CleanSpace liner were installed around the perimeter of the basement floor and walls respectively. The CleanSpace liner will both brighten up the basement interior while providing protection against any moisture seeping through the concrete walls. This blocked water, as well as water leaking in from below the basement will enter the WaterGuard piping buried within the floor. Once inside these specialized pipes, the water is guided straight to a SuperSump installed nearby in the floor. With the help of an UltraSump backup battery for power outage protection; the SuperSump will remove any water that would have otherwise found its way to the surface of this basement floor.

With these new waterproofing solutions in place below their home, this homeowner can expect their basement to remain dry even during heavy rainfall. The WaterGuard & SuperSump duo will keep this home water-free for years to come!

Even with a sump in place below their home, this homeowner was in need of a more capable system to handle the water-removal in their basement. After their appointment for a free estimate with us at TC Hafford Basement Systems, this homeowner gave us the green light to begin work on upgrading their sump system. Our installation crew first excavated a shallow trench into the perimeter of the concrete floor. WaterGuard piping was then installed within this trench, feeding directly into the TripleSafe sump pump placed inside the sump. While the WaterGuard piping is designed to capture and transport leaking water, the TripleSafe device houses three pumps within itself, to maintain a dry basement during any weather. While the primary and secondary pumps operate off the homes power, the third pump runs off a battery in order to maintain operation during power outages. After installation, a fresh layer of concrete was poured to seal the WaterGuard below the surface of the floor.

With their newly upgraded basement waterproofing, this homeowner will no longer need to worry about their sump becoming overwhelmed and flooding the basement. The WaterGuard & TripleSafe installations will maintain a dry basement for this homeowner to utilize however they may need.

With a large crack running along their garage floor due to uneven footing beneath, this homeowner was looking to redo their slab. After calling our office staff at TC Hafford Basement Systems and receiving their free estimate, this homeowner hired us to get the job done. Our crew got started by excavating the damaged area of concrete to pour a fresh slab. Once dried in place, PolyLevel was injected through the slab to fill any gaps below with expanding foam. This will create a level platform to hold the slab in place, eliminating any uneven terrain below that might lead to future cracking.

With a new garage slab in place supported by a PolyLevel injection, this homeowner's garage floor will remain flush with their driveway and crack free for many years to come!

Job Stories From Winslow, ME
Flooding Basement in Waterville, ME Drained With WaterGuard

A couple in Waterville were having trouble with water leaking into their basement. This leakage was exceptionally bad in one corner. The water would pool up on the floor and leave behind a smell when it would finally dry. The homeowners searched for a way to remedy this, eventually finding TC Hafford Basement Systems while watching their TV. They called us right away and received their free estimate. After they chose what work they wanted done on their basement, we got to work!

We began by excavating the interior perimeter of the basement floor. This gave us a trench to lay our WaterGuard pipe into. This is a specially designed pipe which captures water as it tries to enter the basement through the walls or floor, via what is called hydrostatic pressure. This piping system then carries the water to the sump, where we installed a TripleSafe sump pump. The TripleSafe is composed of three pumps. One primary pump for the bulk of the water. A secondary pump in case the primary malfunctions. Then a third, battery-backup pump for when the power goes out. The water guided to the sump is then pushed out through a PVC Discharge line. On the exterior of the home, attached to a discharge line, we added an IceGuard piece. This unique piece of pipe allows water to continue to flow from the line, even if the lower end is blocked by any debris.

With these systems in place, the water trying to enter the basement will be directed out of the basement before ever reaching the surface of the concrete floor. Now this couple can rest assured, they no longer have to deal with water collecting in their basement!

I purchased and moved into this home at the end of August from out of state. This is the third time now within the past month I have had water seep in either from the saturated ground and/or from where the wall meets the floor in my finished basement. I have had to file 2 claims with State Farm and ServPro has also been out twice for water extraction/drying/sanitizing the floor. I need to have a permanent solution for this. Please help. Thanks. -Shannon
