The Search for a Reliable Sump Pump is Over The Search for a Reliable Sump Pump is Over

This Cape Elizabeth, ME, homeowner was tired of their old sump pump going in and out and not working as it should, allowing water to cover their basement floor. The homeowner booked a free estimate with TC Hafford Basement Systems, and System Design Specialist Peter Folsom worked with the homeowner to design a new sump system that would fit their needs. A TripleSafe Sump Pump was installed in the basement's low spot to capture groundwater and take care of it before it could cause any problems. The Triple Safe features two Zoeller sumps to handle heavy rain situations with the added protection of a battery backup pump. The water gets pumped out of the basement and far away from the home through a Buried Discharge Line. Maine gets cold, so to prevent ice buildup from being a problem during the winter months, IceGuard was installed on the Discharge line to ensure the system will run with no hiccups. The homeowner is happy and can use their basement freely without worrying about their items being damaged by water.

New homeowners in Cape Elizabeth, Maine were under contract to purchase their home but the inspection report revealed the horizontal crack in the foundation wall was a big issue. We installed PowerBraces to properly support the home and prevent further shifting. PowerBraces are custom fit and can be adjusted over time to slowly bring the wall back to straight. The PowerBraces are made of zinc-coated steel, so they will never rust like traditional lally columns. Our new homeowners can safely enjoy the house without worry over their foundation.

Job Stories From Cape Elizabeth, ME
Homeowners Want Sump Pump in Cape Elizabeth, Maine

We recently helped homeowners in Cape Elizabeth, Maine address their wet basement problems. They reached out wanting to learn more about installing a sump pump, as they experienced water intrusion from snow melt and heavy rains. We installed our SuperSump pump system, which can handle over 2,000 gallons of water per hour. TrenchDrain was added around the perimeter of the space to capture any water seeping in from the walls and floors, and direct it into the SuperSump to be pumped away from the home.

Waterproofing a Leaking Basement in Cape Elizabeth, Maine

Homeowners in Cape Elizabeth, Maine had water coming into their basement, causing a wet mess they constantly had to clean up. To keep their basement dry, we installed our top of the line waterproofing products. WaterGuard drainage system was installed around the perimeter of the basement to collect incoming water. The WaterGuard ties into the new SuperSump pump so that water is pumped away from the home. The SuperSump has our UltraSump batter back up to ensure the pump runs even if the home loses power. Lastly, a SaniDry Sedona high efficiency air system was installed to both filter the air, and also control the humidity to a healthy level, preventing moisture and condensation.

Leaking Basement In Cape Elizabeth, ME Protected by WaterGuard

A homeowner in Cape Elizabeth was in the market for basement waterproofing. They’d been dealing with water flooding their basement for too long, and needed something done about it. Looking for a professional consultation, the homeowner soon heard about TC Hafford Basement Systems from a family friend. They were in contact with us right away, and we had a representative inspect the basement to give the homeowner a free estimate. They then gave us the green light and we began work!

Our crew started by excavating the interior perimeter of the basement floor. This created a trench for us to emplace our WaterGuard pipe system, which was then covered over with loose rocks and cement. This hides the WaterGuard within the floor, while still allowing for it to function properly. This pipe system will catch water as it tries to leak into the basement, guiding it to the sump within the basement. In the sump, we installed a SuperSump sump pump. This pump will take the water gathered within it and push it up and out of the basement through a PVC discharge line.

These two products working in tandem will maintain a dry basement floor. This homeowner now no longer needs to worry about heavy rains flooding his basement!
