Wet Basement In Cumberland Foreside, ME Waterproofed With WaterGuard

A homeowner in Cumberland Foreside was having trouble with moisture gathering in their basement. The moisture would come in through the walls and floor, then gather into puddles around the basement. Needing this to come to an end, the homeowner got online and found a solution; TC Hafford Basement Systems. After being contacted, we gave the homeowner a free estimate and started work on the basement!

We first excavated the inside perimeter of the basement floor. The resulting trench us space to lay down a WaterGuard pipe system. This system is then buried under loose rocks and cement, to hide it within the floor while still allowing it to function properly. The WaterGuard will capture water as it enters the basement through the floor or walls, and guide it to the sump. In the sump, we installed a SuperSump sump pump. The SuperSump will take the collected water and push it up and out of the basement through a PVC discharge line. On the outside of the home, we attached an IceGuard piece to the PVC discharge line. This IceGuard is designed to prevent a back-up in the sump by allowing water to continue to flow even if the lower end of the discharge line becomes blocked for any reason. This homeowner now no longer has any puddles gathering in his basement, thanks to the WaterGuard.
