Flooding Basement In Hollis Center, ME Waterproofed With WaterGuard

A homeowner in Hollis Center was having issue with water leaking into their basement through the walls and floor. The water achieved this through a phenomenon known as hydrostatic pressure. This is when the amount of water in the surrounding soil is so great, it pressed its way through the cement foundation. To find a solution, the homeowner logged online and searched. They soon found TC Hafford Basement Systems and called us to receive their free estimate. They agreed to what work they wanted done and we got started.

We began by excavating the interior perimeter of the basement floor. This new trench made room for us to lay down our WaterGuard system. This system is then hidden under the floor with loose rocks and cement to ensure functionality. The WaterGuard will capture water as it comes in through the effects of hydrostatic pressure. This water will then be guided to the sump. Within the sump, we installed a SuperSump sump pump. This pump will force all of the water up and out of the basement through a PVC discharge line. Finally, we attached an UltraSump backup batter to the SuperSump. This will maintain the pumping of water even without power in the home.

With these three systems working together, the homeowner will no longer experience a flooding basement. They will maintain a dry basement for years to come.
