Jackman, ME homeowners who recently purchased their home contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems for help with encapsulating their crawlspace, as well as support for the sagging floors above. To waterproof the space, we installed CleanSpace with drainage matting, as well as SprayFoam insulation. Drainage Matting is a durable barrier with dimples to help channel water and elevate the CleanSpace, keeping it clean. CleanSpace is a durable, inorganic vapor barrier that gets attached to the walls and seals up the crawl space, keeping moisture out. SprayFoam creates an air and water tight seal, easily getting into nooks and crannies that traditional fiberglass insulation can't do as well. SmartJacks were installed to support the sagging floors. SmartJacks are a galvanized steel post system that custom fit to a support beam or floor joist to lift sagging floors.

I purchased this house this year in October 2021. There is a fair amount of seepage from an area in the basement where the previous owners had put some cinder blocks in place of the foundation and sealed it up. They explained to me that they wanted a drive-in basement but I'm not sure if that's true or how old it is. There is a sump pump currently which runs off of a generator if we lose power. There are no cracks in the foundation that I see mainly this one area where water seeps in from. I can see on the wood posts that water has filled the basement to about 1 inch at some point which is probably why Nothing is kept down there now. The previous owners mentioned in the spring it's worse but right now it's small. With the sump pump they say it's manageable even during the spring. I'd like to get a professional evaluation to see if there are any underlying foundation issues as well as get a quote on how much it would be to fix this correctly.
