We would like to correct sagging floors in our 120 year old cape. House is built mostly over a crawl space, small approx. 10' by 10' basement housing the furnace etc. Supporting beams are placed on concrete cinder blocks directly on dirt that have undoubtedly sunk down over time. My cellar is cinderblock with cement floors (except one room with dirt floor. Water leaks through the walls and the hole that my well water comes in. I would like an estimate to waterproof the cellar, however, it would be a waste of your time and mine if the waterproofing was going to be more than $10,000. I have mold down there now. BUt working on a fixed income. Will insurance cover any of the cost considering that some of the damage was due to the foundation shifting?
