When our installation crew arrived at the home, their goal was to prevent future leakages in this basement, using a FlexiSpan seal. The first step in sealing this crack was removing any debris from the surface by brushing it away with a coarse brush. Next, an initial layer of sealant was applied within and slightly around the crack. This was covered over by a foam core, which gives the seal the flexibility the name suggests. This core will enable the finished seal to shift and contort to slight changes in the crack shape. Finally, the foam was covered by a second layer of sealant, locking the structure in place. Now no more moisture will leak in through this crack.

Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they began work on this basement waterproofing by excavating a shallow trench into the perimeter of the floor. Within this new trench, WaterGuard piping was laid down. These pipes, buried beneath a fresh layer of concrete, have slits along their bottom edges. The slits will take in any moisture leaking in through the foundation in the future. The water is guided through the floor to the sump to be removed without ever reaching the surface of the floor.

Within the sump, we installed a TripleSafe pump system. The TripleSafe contains three pumps, each serving a purpose. The primary and secondary pumps will remove the majority of the water collected, with the secondary pump only activating if the primary requires extra help. The third pump is a battery-operated backup pump. This pump will keep the basement water-free even in the event of a power-outage. All of the water is removed from the home through a PVC discharge line where it is carried through the lawn to be deposited a distance from the home.

Before our crew was finished, there were two additions that still needed to be installed outside the home. The first was an IceGuard pipe segment attached to the discharge line just beyond where it exits the home. This piece has special holes built-in that allow trapped water to escape. This will prevent a backup in the line if ice or debris blocks the lower end of the line. Finally, a LawnScape discharge port was used to cap the end of the line. Here, the water can exit through the grate into the ground while the grate holds back any debris that might fall around the LawnScape.

With these new additions to their basement, this homeowner will no longer suffer from a flooding basement. The WaterGuard & TripleSafe combination will keep this basement dry for many years to come!
