Leaking Dirt Basement In North Anson, ME Sealed With CleanSpace

A homeowner in North Anson was having trouble with their dirt basement. Water would usually leak in during rain, but mold was starting to spread throughout the basement. Needing a way to deal with this mold, the homeowner searched online for an answer. They soon found TC Hafford Basement Systems and called us right away. We investigated the basement, gave them their free estimate, and then got to work!

To begin, we removed a portion of the dirt floor that was uneven, and graded the floor smooth. We then dug out a sump within the basement to install our SuperSump sump pump. This pump can remove 2,650 gallons of water per hour from the space, forcing it all out through a PVC discharge line. The basement was then encapsulated with a CleanSpace Liner. This thin plastic sheet covers every surface around the basement, except for the ceiling. No more moisture will be able to enter the interior of this basement; It will all be flushed away through the sump. Finally, on the exterior of the home, we attached an IceGuard piece to the discharge line. The IceGuard is a special open pipe that will allow water to escape should the lower end of the pipe become blocked and begin to back-up.

With these additions to the basement, this homeowners mold problem will be a thing of the past! Without the moisture in the air to live off of, the mold will die and disappear.

Hello: This 94 year old ranch house has brick and stone foundation that is caving in and crumbling. Built into a side of a hill on one side and the river on the other. The chimney is pulling away from the house. We would like to know if we can stablize it or need to replace the foundation. Note: this is the location address, not our mailing address. We are there on most weekends for someone to come by for an estimate.
