A homeowner from Sebasco Estates, ME was in dire need of basement waterproofing. Their basement would be wet for weeks after any heavy rainfall. Even...
Fred, from Bath, ME, had a basement that would leak water regularly, as well as a musty crawlspace. This was only until he saw TC Hafford Basement Systems on TV, and decided to give us a call. Once David Zawistowski, our representative, finished his examination of the basement, it was time to get started.
Fred had a full system put in to keep the water out for good! Starting with the WaterGuard piping, which carries off the water coming in around the outer edge of the basement. He also got a Supersump sump pump which pumps the water up and out of the basement, back where it belongs. Where Fred had a door leading outside from the basement, we installed a TrenchDrain, to collect any water coming through under the door, and feed it along to the WaterGuard piping.
Meanwhile, in the crawlspace, TC Hafford lined the interior with CleanSpace liner. This keeps out moisture and bacteria that might cause mold or rot to occur underneath the house.
After completing our work, Fred made a point to contact us almost a month later to let us know, even after two rain storms, his basement remained perfectly dry!
Crawlspace In Bowdoin, ME, Sealed With CleanSpace
A homeowner in Bowdoin was in need of some form of moisture control in their crawlspace. Moisture was getting in and causing all sorts of problems. From pools of water gathering on the floor to mold growing on the wood. This was a serious issue for the homeowner, and needed to be prevented as soon as possible. This is when the homeowner contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems. We had a crew out there in no time to help solve the problem. The floor, walls, and supports of the crawlspace were all covered with CleanSpace Liner. This is a thin film that locks out any moisture trying to make its way into the crawlspace through the floor or walls. Maintaining a dry atmosphere in the crawlspace for the future!
Basement In Woolwich, ME, Waterproofed The Right Way
A homeowner in Woolwich was experiencing issues with water seeping into his basement. This water would collect into small pools, and created not only an unusable basement, but also a great environment for mold to grow. Seeing how much of a problem this could cause, the homeowner contacted TC Hafford as soon as he saw an ad for us on television. This was the right move, and we had just the solution for these basement troubles.
To start the project, we dug up the interior perimeter of the concrete floor of the basement. This was to make room for our WaterGuard system. This system will rest slightly under the perimeter of the floor. The reason for this, is because water will enter the basement through both the walls and the floor. By placing the WaterGuard here, it will attract and capture all the water before it reaches the surface of the basement floor. The water is then diverted to our next installed device, the SmartSump sump pump. This takes the captured water and pumps it out of the basement through PVC piping. Finally, the IceGuard filter was attached directly outside the house, as a part of the PVC pipe system. This IceGuard will allow water to escape the pipe, should a clog happen that might otherwise prevent the water from exiting the pipe. Now this homeowner’s basement is dry for good!
Bowdoinham, ME, Sump Pump Replaced With SuperSump
A resident of Bowdoinham was experiencing issues with their sump system. It wasn’t pumping enough water out of the basement like it should have been. This was an immediate concern for the homeowner because now their basement was flooding. After seeing an ad on their television, TC Hafford got the call. After discussing options with the homeowner, we had a crew head out and get to work.
We started by pulling out the old pump, it needed to be replaced to make sure water would be evacuated properly. Once the old pump was removed, a SuperSump sump pump was installed. This will now keep all the water pumped up and out of the basement. Finally, an UltraSump backup battery was attached to guarantee the SuperSump stays functional even if the power goes out in the home. This homeowner now no longer needs to worry about a wet basement.
Leaky Basement Windows In Rollinsford, ME, Sealed Up With EverLast Windows
A homeowner in Rollinsford had a basement with steel framed windows. These windows, over time, lost their alignment with the rest of the basement wall. This small crack would allow for water to enter in through the window during rain. This was an issue that needed to be solved ASAP. The homeowner took to the internet to find a solution. They soon came across TC Hafford Basement Systems and chose us to get the job done. Once on the scene, we removed the old windows, these weren’t going to be needed anymore. We then started on installing four EverLast Windows. These windows fit snugly into the previous windows ports, sealing off the basement from exterior moisture. Now this homeowner no longer needs to worry about water leaking into their basement through the window frames.
Flooding Basement In Topsham, ME Drained With TripleSafe
A homeowner in Topsham with sump trouble was looking for a way to properly waterproof their basement. Their previously installed sump pump just wasn’t able to keep up with all the water in the basement, and would back-up, flooding the basement. The homeowner was soon told about TC Hafford Basement Systems from a friend, and they called us shortly after. We arranged for our representative to meet with the homeowner and give them their free estimate. After going over their options, the homeowner selected what work they wanted done and we got started!
We began by removing the old sump pump from the basement. This was disposed of properly, and we started on the waterproofing. We installed a TripleSafe sump pump in the sump of the basement. The TripleSafe is composed of three separate pumps. The primary pump handles the bulk of the water entering it. The secondary pump handles the water in the event of the primary pump failing to handle the water. The third pump is a battery backup pump, used only if the power to the home goes out. Maintaining a water free environment, in any weather. The water is channeled out of the home through a PVC discharge line. On the exterior of the home, we attached an IceGuard piece to the discharge line. This specially designed pipe will keep water flowing from the basement even if the lower end becomes blocked by any kind of debris.
These newly installed systems will maintain a dry, healthy atmosphere within the basement for years to come This homeowner now has a completely waterproofed basement.
Humid Basement In Richmond, ME Finished With ThermalDry Flooring
A couple in Richmond had a basement that was constantly humid. The humidity was causing a mold problem on the floor, but the homeowner wanted to finish their basement. The homeowners sought a way to resolve this issue, and contacted us at TC Hafford Basement Systems to receive a free estimate. They selected what work they wanted done and we got to work!
To help these homeowners with their basement issue, we needed to eliminate the mold problem. We also needed a way to allow for the basement to be finished with the humidity of the space. To achieve this, we laid down ThermalDry flooring tiles across the entire basement floor. These tiles are made of a hard plastic, with a thick foam matting insulating the bottom of them. This raises them off of the floor, and keeps them above the cold temperature of the concrete floor. These tiles enable the homeowners to finish their basement without any fear of the mold impeding on their floor.
Wet Crawlspace In Phippsburg, ME Sealed With CleanSpace
Chris from Phippsburg had a crawlspace that would regularly leak water during heavy rains. This could lead to damage to the property, or mold growth within the crawlspace. To prevent this, Chris got online and searched for a way to receive a proper vapor barrier. He soon came across TC Hafford Basement Systems, and called us to receive his free estimate. We then dispatched our crew and got to work!
The crawlspace was first given a drain system. We installed a SmartDrain in the space where most of the water would usually gather. We then lined the crawlspace with a Drainage Matting along the floor/wall joint. This mat will hold back water as it tries to enter and allow it to drain back out through ground, or through the SmartDrain. Next, we encapsulated the crawlspace with a CleanSpace Liner. This liner is made of a thin plastic, and completely locks out any moisture trying to enter the interior. The water will then be forced to drain back into the surrounding soil. Finally, we installed a SaniDry CX dehumidifier to handle the humidity in the crawlspace.
Keeping the moisture both off of the floor, and out of the air, we eliminate the problem of water damage and mold build up entirely. Chris now longer needs to worry about heavy rain, and can rest assured his crawlspace will remain dry!
Georgetown, ME Crawlspace Protected From Moisture With CleanSpace
Dave from Georgetown was experiencing trouble with moisture in his crawlspace. This moisture was coming in through the surrounding soil, due to the lack of a vapor barrier in Dave’s crawlspace. This moisture could lead to problems, such as mold growth. Looking for ways to prevent the moisture from causing any problems, Dave called TC Hafford Basement Systems. We had our representative at the home in no time to inspect the space, and give a free estimate. We then dispatched our crew and got to work!
We began by laying a Drainage Matting along the wall/flood joint surrounding the crawlspace. This mat will hold back a portion of the moisture entering through this area, allowing it time to drain away back into the soil. We then encapsulated the crawlspace with a CleanSpace Liner. The liner covers the walls, the floor, and any supports in the space. Being made of a thin plastic, the CleanSpace will hold out all the moisture that would have otherwise found its way to the interior of the space. This new vapor barrier will maintain a healthy, dry atmosphere within the space for many years to come. Dave should never need to worry about moisture in this crawlspace again!

Gutter Shutter Installation in Phippsburg, Maine
A homeowner in Phippsburg, Maine, reached out to TC Hafford Basement Systems for help with managing rainwater around their home. With no gutter system in place, they were concerned about water pooling near their foundation and wanted a reliable solution. After assessing the property, we recommended our Gutter Shutter system for its strength, durability, and ability to keep gutters clear of debris.
The Gutter Shutter system is designed to handle large volumes of rainwater while preventing clogs from leaves, branches, and other debris. Its seamless construction and heavy-duty materials mean the system remains securely fastened, eliminating the risk of sagging or detachment. This ensures that rainwater is efficiently redirected away from the foundation, reducing the risk of erosion and potential water damage.

They were impressed with the clean, seamless look of the installation and confident in its ability to protect their home for years to come. The installation not only provided a practical solution but also enhanced the overall resilience of their property, giving them greater assurance against water-related issues.
