I just bought a house in South Portland. The basement is dry but I would like the sump pump system examined and a high water alarm and check valve installed. I'd also like to discuss backup options for when there is no power.

Water comes into basement when it rains a lot Also unrelated to water issue, the foundation might be shifting and jacks in the basement (there a long time, unadjusted) might be causing uneven floors and cracking walls in the upper part of the house.
Project Location: South Portland, ME
Water leaking into the basement through a crack in the foundation
Project Location: South Portland, ME
Crawl space with dirt floor probably causing too much moisture in my home As well as adding to the cost of keeping my home warm during cold months

I need help sealing the perimeter of my detached garage. It leaks a lot of water into the garage during the winter when the ground freezes and is ruining the floor. Thanks - Scott
Project Location: South Portland, ME
Hi, our basement leaks in a heavy rain. We have a drain on the downward side, but the past winter it didn't stop the basement from filling with up to 4" of water (deepest on that downward side). I think we need a sump pump, but more than that we'd be interested in stopping the water from coming in. I dug down around the foundation on one side and filled a huge crack with cement caulk, but the whole front of the house is inaccessible due to proximity to the roadway and pavement driveway.

Need to convert 1-2 small windows in daylight basement to egress windows to conform to code as there is a bedroom in the basement.
