We have recently developed a wet basement after several years in the house. At this point after any significant rainfall we get standing water in our basement. We do not have a drain or a pump. We have radiant heating in the floor. The water seems to be coming from the space between the floor and the walls.

We live in a house that is about 40yrs old. Nothing has ever been done to any of it. The basement floods with heavy rain, and in the spring. We have a sub pump, but it doesn't help the flooding. My wife, Yvonne, and I just purchased a home in Tenants Harbor, Maine that was built in 1900 and remodelled (with addition) in 2008-09. The basement/crawl space under the original structure has a strong odor of mold or mildew.
