Damp Crawlspace In Casco, ME Protected By CleanSpace

Pam from Casco was having trouble with her old vapor barrier in her crawlspace. Water was pooling up in the crawlspace during rain, meaning that somehow, her vapor barrier was letting water through. Looking to have this addressed, Pam called TC Hafford Basement Systems after she saw us on the news. We had a representative inspect the crawlspace and give her a free estimate on the cost of a new vapor barrier. She gave us the go ahead and we got to work!

We began by lining the wall/floor joint with a Drainage Matting. This would allow any moisture that manages to enter time to drain back through the way it came in. Without allowing it to pool up further towards the center of the crawlspace. We then encapsulated the entire crawlspace with a CleanSpae Liner, except for the ceiling. This plastic sheet of CleanSpace will hold back any moisture from the outside. Not allowing water to gather within the crawlspace itself. Finally, to keep the air quality dry, we installed a SaniDry CX dehumidifier. This will take in the moist air from around the crawlspace, and dry it out. Maintaining a dry, healthy atmosphere within the crawlspace.

Now Pam has a dry crawlspace and a fully functioning vapor barrier. Water should no longer be an issue for this Casco crawlspace!

Hi! My house is on a rock wall "foundation" with a dirt-and-boulder-floor crawlspace. The house has a small footprint. There's a main 6x6-inch beam (I think) that extends across the ceiling of the crawlspace and is held up by jacks. That beam supports the house. The beam is rotted and should be replaced, and the house is kinda sinking in on itself to the point where some doors have trouble locking or closing. I'm looking for someone to provide a quote to replace the support structure of the house, including the beam and jacks and whatever else is necessary, in the crawlspace with something that will last a long time. I'm also looking to have the house straightened out so it is not crooked or warped like it is now from the existing jacks and rotted beam. Thank you!

We have a few cracks in our foundation wall that drip water, especially this time of the year when we get rain and ground is frozen. Home is relatively new (2006) but appears when built they added a section of foundation after the initial placement as well as we have a couple cracks beneath the main carrying beam.
