When this Readfield, ME homeowner noticed a musty smell coming from their basement, they realized the space was especially damp lately. When our installation crew made it to the home, they were tasked with eliminating the moisture build up in the atmosphere of the space. To achieve this, a SaniDry Sedona was installed on the floor of the basement with a Condensate Pump installed nearby. The SaniDry, once active, will take in the damp air all around the basement. The moisture is then separated from the air and it is circulated back throughout the basement. The collected water flows through a connecting pipe to the Condensate pump. This pump then forces the water up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line. The discharge line carries the water a small distance from the home before releasing it onto the ground where it will harmlessly drain away into the ground.

Now this homeowner should soon notice the musty smell fade away while the air becomes cleared of moisture. The SaniDry Sedona will keep the atmosphere below this home healthy and dry for years to come!

A homeowner living in Readfield, ME had a problem growing beneath their home. WIthout a vapor barrier to keep moisture out of their crawlspace, mold was beginning to grow in the space. To see what they could have done about this problem, the homeowner searched online for crawlspace waterproofing and found us at TC Hafford. They called us to set up their free estimate and we got to work!

When our installation crew arrived at the home, they began work on the space right away by laying a Drainage Matting across the floor of the space. This mat has holes throughout it to allow any moisture build-up within the barrier to flow out through the ground below. Next, the space was encapsulated with a CleanSpace liner. Completing the vapor barrier, this CleanSpace liner will now stop any outside moisture before it is able to reach the interior of this crawlspace, where it would worsen any mold problems. Finally, a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was installed within the crawlspace interior. This device will take in any damp air within the space, separating the moisture from it and circulating the dried air back into the space.

With their new vapor barrier in place, along-side their SaniDry dehumidifier, this homeowner should soon notice any musty smell dissipate as their mold problem subsides.

Susan from Readfield was experiencing difficulty with her semi-finished basement. Even though she possessed a sump, the water leaking in through the back of the basement was still causing the floor to become wet. To keep the water out of the basement, the sump needed to be upgraded from a drain to a pump, so we installed a SuperSump sump pump in the old sump. The SuperSump is able to move 2,650 gallons of water per hour out of a basement. This should be more than enough to maintain a dry floor for Susan. To keep the SuperSump functional during any weather, we attached an UltraSump backup battery to the SuperSump to keep it operating even if the power goes out. Finally, on the exterior of the home, attached to the discharge line coming from the sump, we installed an IceGuard piece to maintain a steady flow of water. The IceGuard will continue to let water out of the pipe, even if the lower end is blocked by ice or other debris.

Now Susan can finish her basement without needing to worry about water gathering on her basement floor.
