Job Stories From Westbrook, ME
Moist Crawlspace In Westbrook, ME Protected By CleanSpace

A homeowner in Westbrook began noticing a musty smell emanating from their crawlspace. This smell was due to moist conditions, and was likely be a formation of mold inside the crawlspace. The smell might have been the least of the homeowner’s concerns if it was indeed mold growing in their crawlspace. The mold can release spores into the air, which if inhaled by the homeowner, could lead to health concerns. Needing a way to deal with their moisture issue, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems after seeing us on their TV. We had a representative at the home in no time to give the homeowner their free estimate. Luckily, there was very little mold in the crawlspace, and drastic measures weren’t required. We got the go ahead from the homeowner and began work!

With the little amount of mold present in the crawlspace, we needed to stop the moisture if we wanted to prevent the mold from spreading. To do this, we encapsulated the crawlspace with a CleanSpace Liner. This liner holds back moisture trying to enter the interior of the crawlspace through the walls or floor. Keeping the moisture out this way will keep the air and surfaces within the crawlspace dry. Without moisture in the air, the mold is unable to survive. Needing certain conditions to live in, the mold will eventually die off, and not grow back. Now this homeowner has no mold problem, and a dry crawlspace, thanks to CleanSpace!

8x12 space under addition in basement fills up with water during heavy rains. There is no sump pump there.I do have sump pump in basement in between washer and dryer with a plastic sump pump hose which tends to split over time and ends up spraying bottom of those appliances which are not raised off floor. I usually drain that 8x12 space with shop vac and empty into sump pump hole, and run fans to dry that area.Lots of work and takes a long time to dry!

I have a couple pain points in my house's basement where water penetrates during heavy storms. Particularly near a corner/bulkhead enclosure, as well as a weak area at the base of a window. I also have a small sump pit and might be curious about upgrading that too.
Project Location: Westbrook, ME
Need water proofing for basement /foundation. I have pictures for context
Project Location: Westbrook, ME
We need a sump pump in our crawlspace. We are in a condo (total of 5 units)- all crawlspaces are serviced by one sump pump a 3 units over. However, last year, we had a pipe burst and had damage. We have a small amount of water and moisture still in our crawl space which is causing our wood floor to cup. We need a few things done to remediate. We will have a dehumidifier installed, but I also want to add another sump pump under our crawlspace as the existing sump pump drains under our unit. Net is- I need a dry crawlspace to 'save' the cupping floor.

Basement gets wet during heavy rains. Might need to be sealed or have sump pump installed.

Basement started leaking through a specific point where the wall meets the floor after snowmelt this year; recurs if more than a half inch of rain or so.

We have a small section of our basement, approx 23'x13' with a dirt floor, that needs one of the 23' foundation walls replaced, its a rubble wall with brick from ground level to the sill. We'd also like to have a concrete floor, with a drain, poured in that same area.
Project Location: Westbrook, ME
Cracks in the basement floor and walls and believe the floors are sagging and have settling issues.

Hello, we are looking at getting our basement waterproofed. It's about 750 square feet total and we get water seeping in through a couple points on one side during heavy rains.
Project Location: Westbrook, ME
Can I set up a free estimate? I am on vacation 2/20-2/24 or any Saturdays. My house is 100+ years old with a partially dug out dirt basement, so it's always wet. French drains were removed last summer, and sump installed. Getting it drier would be great.
Project Location: Westbrook, ME
We recently purchased a home with a consistent leak in the basement. It appears to be coming from the foundation though there aren't visible cracks. We would love to have someone come take a look at it and help guide us on getting it repaired.
Project Location: Westbrook, ME
Building is a large 3-story Victorian built about 100 years ago. The basement is pretty rough (stone walls, musty, almost always some water) and I'd like to spiff it up if it's feasible. Tenants use it for laundry and I'd like to provide storage for them as well, but it would have to be dry for that.
Project Location: Westbrook, ME
My basement perimeter drain makes loud gurgle noises whenever it rains and takes about 2 weeks to drain. Zoom drain came to do a pressure wash cleaning, but while initially scoping it they discovered that the drain pipe is cracked with pieces of clay blocking the water from draining, and one portion is so completely filled they can't tell which parts are also cracked. They recommended replacing that section of the perimeter drain as a permanent fix. I have only lived in the house for 2 weeks so I am eager to make the fix.
Project Location: Westbrook, ME
Interested in buying a home but it definitely needs foundation work. House is settling, you can tell there was sitting water in basement so we would need proper drainage and one of the walls is literally a pile of dirt. Not sure what happened there.. It is cinder block foundation if that's any helpful information. Hoping to get a ballpark estimate on services/costs/timing so we can make a proper decision. Thank you!
