Basement In Woolwich, ME, Waterproofed The Right Way

A homeowner in Woolwich was experiencing issues with water seeping into his basement. This water would collect into small pools, and created not only an unusable basement, but also a great environment for mold to grow. Seeing how much of a problem this could cause, the homeowner contacted TC Hafford as soon as he saw an ad for us on television. This was the right move, and we had just the solution for these basement troubles.

To start the project, we dug up the interior perimeter of the concrete floor of the basement. This was to make room for our WaterGuard system. This system will rest slightly under the perimeter of the floor. The reason for this, is because water will enter the basement through both the walls and the floor. By placing the WaterGuard here, it will attract and capture all the water before it reaches the surface of the basement floor. The water is then diverted to our next installed device, the SmartSump sump pump. This takes the captured water and pumps it out of the basement through PVC piping. Finally, the IceGuard filter was attached directly outside the house, as a part of the PVC pipe system. This IceGuard will allow water to escape the pipe, should a clog happen that might otherwise prevent the water from exiting the pipe. Now this homeowner’s basement is dry for good!

We are moving into an old house that was built on a ledge. The crawlspace is very damp, which is causing problems in the wood as well as mold. We would like an estimate for encapsulation and mold removal.

I need some thoughts as to sealing basement walls to bottom of house
Vicinity of Ames Drive in Woolwich
We have a crawl space on a rock shelf underneath a 20-30 year old house (the foundation is about that old, the house itself is older) that is pretty damp. We're concerned about the wood underneath rotting out. Luckily it's held up this long, but it is starting to show signs of rot. We want to know what can be done to fix the crawl space and wood.
