SuperSump Upgrade Protects Bath, ME Basement from Flooding SuperSump Upgrade Protects Bath, ME Basement from Flooding

With a black mold growing in their basement and regular flooding after rainfall, this Bath, ME homeowner was looking for a solution! They called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems and following their free estimate from our sales representative, they hired us to get started on upgrading their failing sump as soon as possible. Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they were able to begin work on the basement by excavating a shallow trench into the perimeter of the floor. This trench opened enough space to lay WaterGuard piping down around the basement. After sealing these pipes in place with a fresh layer of concrete, they will act to intercept any moisture leaking through the foundation in the future. This collected water is guided through the WaterGuard to the SuperSump pump installed where the old pump had been. The SuperSump system is able to remove over 2,600 gallons of water from the home every hour. This water flow out of the home through a PVC discharge line protected by an IceGuard segment just outside the home. The IceGuard is built in a way that provides any water blocked by ice or debris a way to escape the line without backing up into the basement.

With an upgraded sump pump, this homeowner should no longer experience a flooding basement after any rainfall. Their new WaterGuard system will maintain a dry basement floor for years to come!

Job Stories From Bath, ME
Bath, ME Basement Completely Waterproofed

Fred, from Bath, ME, had a basement that would leak water regularly, as well as a musty crawlspace. This was only until he saw TC Hafford Basement Systems on TV, and decided to give us a call. Once David Zawistowski, our representative, finished his examination of the basement, it was time to get started.

Fred had a full system put in to keep the water out for good! Starting with the WaterGuard piping, which carries off the water coming in around the outer edge of the basement. He also got a Supersump sump pump which pumps the water up and out of the basement, back where it belongs. Where Fred had a door leading outside from the basement, we installed a TrenchDrain, to collect any water coming through under the door, and feed it along to the WaterGuard piping.

Meanwhile, in the crawlspace, TC Hafford lined the interior with CleanSpace liner. This keeps out moisture and bacteria that might cause mold or rot to occur underneath the house.

After completing our work, Fred made a point to contact us almost a month later to let us know, even after two rain storms, his basement remained perfectly dry!

From what I hear -typical Maine Basement-freeze/that water seeps in-lots of rain-water seeps in-sometimes just the outside perimeter-this past week-a lot more-used shop vac for some and the rest just receded
Project Location: Bath, ME
We found three or so inches of standing water in our basement today. After several hours of pumping it out, we found what appears to be a steady stream of water coming up through the cement floor at the base of the stairs. We'd like someone to come take a look and give us some options.

An addition section of my basement walls is cinder block . There is a crack that water comes through when it rains.
Project Location: Bath, ME
We have two sides to the house with two basements. One had been concreted over, at one time, but the floor is pretty much toast. The other side has a dirt floor. Both are currently flooded, and one side of the dirt basement requires some leveling to install posts to address a problem with the sill. We'd like to talk about waterproofing, if that is possible, or at least dealing with times when there is standing water via a pump system.

We need a new sump-pump and battery back-up with an outside drain installed.

Moisture issues in crawl space.
Project Location: Bath, ME
I know our dirt floor basement leaks and we have a basic sump pump, and are getting a smell, but I was hoping other than doing a full encapsulation and new pump if there were other (less expensive options) like insulating between floors or dehumidification? Anything that would help.
Project Location: Bath, ME
Hi, We have been noticing an increase in sloping floors of our almost 200 year old home. After going into the crawl space there may be deterioration and inadequate floor joists as well missing supports. I would love to have someone come to take a look and give us a quote on the work to be done. Thanks!

Have water seeping in through foundation when we have heavy rain during cold months, usually doesn't happen during warmer months as the water either drains away from foundation or my sump gets rid of it

I purchased an older (1900) home recently and after further inspection I have noticed a corner support post has rotted completely out and that other aspects of the homes support structure have become insufficient. What I believe are settling cracks have become more visible even in the last two months since I moved in. I am Interested in repair/enhancement of the support structure of the home. Please advise if I can provide any further details
