WaterGuard Protects Farmington, ME Basement From Water Damage

A homeowner in Farmington had a basement which would frequently take on water during heavy rains. This was a problem for the homeowner because he was using this space for storage, and didn’t want his belongings to be damaged by the water. After seeing TC Hafford Basement Systems on his television, this homeowner knew we were exactly the company he needed! He gave us a call and we got working on the basement!

We began by digging out the inside perimeter of the basement floor. This allowed us to lay down our special WaterGuard pipe system, which was then covered in loose rocks and cement to hide it beneath the floor without stopping it from working. The WaterGuard pipes will capture water as it travels through the cement, not allowing it to reach the surface. We then installed a SuperSump sump pump with an UltraSump backup battery attached. The water collected by the WaterGuard is guided to this new sump, which pumps the water up and out of the basement through a PVC discharge line. Finally, on the exterior of the home, we attached an IceGuard pipe to the middle of the discharge line. This IceGuard will allow water to exit the pipe in the event of a blockage lower down the pipe.

With these systems in place and working together, this homeowner will no longer need to worry about water finding its way into his basement!

I have an old house with a mixed foundation (Stone, brick, poured concrete and block concrete) that has moisture issues. This is not a living space, just an area for the furnace and such. It has water intrusion issues that I am interested in improving or eliminating.

I have a finished basement (w/ carpeting) that has flooded on several occasions. I now have a sump pump - but have noticed I still have water seeping along the perimeter and am concerned about more flooding (especially if the power goes out and the sump won't work). Am interested in your feedback regarding my situation/a cost-effective and hopefully permanent resolution. I'd like to lose the fear and trepidation I have and live peacefully without worry about flooding! Thanks - Christine
