Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Encapsulating Dirt Floor Crawl Space in Farmington, Maine

This Farmington, Maine crawl space was built on ledge with dirt floors, making the space constantly damp. Over time moisture in a crawl space can cause big problems, such as mold or wood rot of the support beams. We installed our encapsulation system to keep the home protected from the ground up. CleanSpace vapor barrier was installed on the floors and walls to seal out moisture where it was previously seeping in. A SmartSump pump now pumps the groundwater away from the home through an exterior buried discharge line. Spray Foam insulation was installed on the walls and rim joists to both improve energy efficiency, and act as an added vapor barrier. Lastly, a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier now keeps the humidity controlled to a healthy level so the crawl space stays dry.
