After contacting TC Hafford Basement Systems, a team of specialists were able to successfully solve all of these issues. Damp Harrison, ME Basement Kept Dry with CleanSpace Encapsulation Damp Harrison, ME Basement Kept Dry with CleanSpace Encapsulation

After experiencing dampness in their basement for some time, this Harrison, ME homeowner hired us at TC Hafford Basement Systems to solve their wet basement problem. To protect this space from moisture in the future, the existing slab was excavated from the basement to make room for a completely waterproof slab installation. With a freshly poured slab, our crew installed a Drainage Matting beneath the surface, along with a CleanSpace liner to wrap the walls of the basement. A SuperSump pump was also installed in the new floor, providing a means for any gathering moisture to be pumped out and away from the home. Now water leaking in through the walls or up from below the floor will be blocked by the new vapor barrier and redirected back out of the home through either the ground or the sump.

These basement upgrades will enable this homeowner to make use of their basement once again without the fear of water damage. The new vapor barrier will ensure their basement remains dry in the future!

Job Stories From Harrison, ME
Leaking Crack in Harrison, ME Sealed with FlexiSpan

Having been living with a damp basement for some time, this Harrison, ME homeowner though it was time they had something done to dry their basement. A crack along one of the concrete walls was the problem causing the dampness below this home. Wanting the job done right the first time, the homeowner called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems as soon as they saw us on their TV. Once they sat down with one of our sales representatives, the homeowner decided they wanted us to solve their wet basement problem!

As soon as our installation crew arrived at the home, they got started clearing the crack of small debris using a coarse brush. To begin sealing this crack, a layer of sealant was applied within and around the length of the crack. Next, a foam core was laid along the crack, covered by a second layer of sealant. This forms a FlexiSpan seal over the crack. As the name suggests, the FlexiSpan is able to conform to small changes in the shape of the crack over time to prevent future leakages. The completed seal will keep out the moisture that had been so easily leaking into the basement in the past.

With their new seal in place, the crack in this homeowner’s basement will no longer be a problem. The FlexiSpan will keep this crack from leaking for many years into the future!

Harrison, ME Basement Kept Free of Water with WaterGuard Installation

A homeowner living in Harrison, ME was having trouble with the sump in their basement. The water that was leaking into the basement would occasionally gather in puddles instead of exiting through the sump. This dampness was a problem the homeowner wanted to deal with right away. After seeing an ad for TC Hafford Basement Systems on their TV, they called us to receive their free estimate. When they decided on what work they wanted done, they gave us the go-ahead to begin work!

Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they began work on using WaterGuard piping to keep this basement dry. To achieve this, a shallow trench was excavated into the perimeter of the basement floor for the WaterGuard to be laid in. The WaterGuard will surround the basement beneath the surface of the floor, feeding directly into the existing sump. After being buried beneath a fresh layer of concrete, the WaterGuard will now take in any leaking moisture through small slits along the bottom edge of each pipe. This will handle any water problems before they ever reach the surface of the basement floor.

Now that the WaterGuard has been installed in this basement floor, a flooding basement is now a thing of the past for this home. The homeowner will no longer need to manually sweep water to sump to be removed from the basement.

Sump Pump Pit In Harrison, ME, Needs New Pump

A homeowner in Harrison was having trouble with their current sump pump. They had contacted TC Hafford at a previous residence for basement work; and now gave us another call to get this new basement done! His current sump pump wasn’t pumping water like it used to. Water was starting to collect in and around the sump for extended periods of time. We had a representative head out to take a look and offer potential solutions. Once the homeowner decided on what they wanted done, we got to work!

We started the job by removing the old pump. It wasn’t going to be doing the homeowner any good anymore. We then installed a SuperSump sump pump into the old sump. This new sump should do the trick when it comes to pushing out the water that gathers in the sump. Finally, on the outside of the house, we attached an IceGuard filter to the PVC discharge line. This will ensure water continues to drain should the lower end of the pipe become blocked by ice or debris. Now this homeowner is worry free with a dry basement!

Hi - we will like to eventually finish our basement and would like an evaluation of what would need to be done to ensure it is stable and waterpoof. As of right now, there is minimal water, if any, but some of the walls have efflorescence. If you do not deal with structural integrity, but rather focus on water remediation, could you recommend another firm? Thanks Chris
