With moisture easily able to enter this property owner’s basement, they were unable to make much use of the space. Looking to remedy this problem, they contacted us at TC Hafford Basement Systems, and we were soon able to give the homeowner a free estimate. Liking what we could offer, they gave our crew the go-ahead to begin work on excavating the old, leaking slab with a fresh slab of concrete. This new slab, however, was fitted with WaterGuard piping around the outer edge, buried just below the surface. These pipes will capture any leaking moisture in the future and guide it directly to the nearby TripleSafe sump pump. Finally, a CleanSpace wall system was put in around the exterior of the basement, to seal any moisture that might enter through the walls and brighten up the interior of the space.

With these additions to their home, this property owner should now be able to utilize their basement however they please without the need to fear water damage. The WaterGuard system will ensure this basement floor remains dry for years to come!

Having lived with a wet basement for years, this homeowner needed a permanent solution to keep their basement dry now that they could no longer keep the water at bay themselves. To properly waterproof the space, they called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems, and we set the up with a free estimate soon after. Once they gave us the go-ahead, our installation crew was able to get started on putting a WaterGuard system in place. The WaterGuard piping is buried in a shallow trench around the perimeter of the basement floor, covered by a fresh layer of concrete to conceal it within the floor. Once in place, the WaterGuard will absorb any moisture leaking in through the foundation in the future, keeping the surface of the floor water-free. This trapped water is guided below the floor to the SuperSump pump also installed by our crew. This pump can remove water from the home at a rate of 2,650 gallons of water per hour through the discharge line. Outside the home, a IceGuard & LawnScape pipe segments were intersected into the line to provide extra protection for the basement. The IceGuard will prevent any blockages in the line from causing water to back up into the home while the LawnScape covers the end of the line with a grate to keep out debris.

Now that a more permanent solution has been put in place, this homeowner no longer needs to worry about manually removing any water accumulating in their basement. The WaterGuard & SuperSump will ensure this basement stays dry for many years into the future!

Having to manually remove water from their basement following any rainfall was not something this homeowner was too keen to continue. After seeing TC Hafford Basement Systems in their newspaper, they called us to ask about a free estimate. Following their estimate, our installation crew was dispatched to get started on resolving this homeowner’s wet basement problem. Once our crew arrived, they began work on the basement by excavating the perimeter of the floor, creating a shallow trench. This trench enabled WaterGuard piping to be laid surrounding the basement floor. These pipes have slits built-in to capture moisture as it leaks through the foundation during future rainfall. Once buried beneath a fresh layer of concrete, the WaterGuard will collect any moisture before it can reach to floors surface to pool up. This water is then guided below the floor to the SuperSump pump attached directly to the WaterGuard. The SuperSump removes 2,650 gallons of water per hour, plenty of power to keep this basement completely water-free!

Now this homeowner can relax during rainstorms, instead of struggling to keep their basement dry themselves. The WaterGuard & SuperSump system will maintain a dry basement floor for this homeowner for the future!

Dark and Damp Basement Windows In South Berwick, ME, Replaced with Brighter Windows

This homeowner in South Berwick wasn’t very happy with the windows they had in their basement. They were leaky, and didn’t look very good. This led them to contact TC Hafford Basement Systems to get the job done!

The three windows in the basement were taken out, and replaced by three Everlast Basement Windows, which are waterproof and extremely durable. The homeowner also purchased two SunHouse Basement Enclosures, as well as two domed covers for their new windows. These keep water and debris away from the new window, while the white painted interior of the SunHouse Enclosure will reflect plenty of light into the basement.

We just purchased a house that was built almost 300 years ago and the floor in one of the rooms is quite crooked from sagging and seems to be getting worse. We understand we can't fix the floor back to it being level, we just want to prevent it from getting worse and replace some of the cracked floor boards. I hope you can help!

House is a modern (1981) cape with full basement and bulkhead. Foundation is mostly poured solid, some block on front wall. Water ingress at wall/floor seam in basement when water table rises in spring and during heavy winter thaw/rain. Would like to investigate options for perimeter drain to existing sump pumps.

We are buying this house and need a quote on two things. Firstly, the jack posts in the basement are temporary, per our inspector. We are wondering what that would cost to put in permanent jack posts. Secondly, parts of the foundation are brick/stone and may need future sealing or repair. Are you able to give an approximate quote with pictures? Feel free to give me a call. Thank you !

Crawl space with moisture issues- potential mold-
Project Location: South Berwick, ME
I'm about to begin finishing my basement, but would like to have it waterproofed before I begin construction. My home is about four years old, but it's experienced some foundation leakage since day one. There used to be a real problem with leakage around the foundation pins, but then I added some rain gutters, and that seems to have eliminated the problem. Still, with a heavy winter and a wet spring, I'm concerned that some water could get in, and I'd hate to have that happen after putting up walls. Ideally, I'd like to get a quote for coating the interior walls and floor with a sealant. I've also had quite a few cracks form on both the walls and the floor, and would like those repaired at the same time. If you can reach me at your earliest convenience to setup a home visit/provide a quote, I'd appreciate it! Thanks,

I have an 1890 house with a stone foundation and dirt basement floor. There are multiple small concrete slabs that have been poured over the years for different uses i.e. furnace, water tank, etc. About a quarter of the area has the brick bottom of a water storage cistern left also. The whole thing sits on ledge at floor level. The dirt seems to be there only to level off the low spots in the ledge. I am looking for some ballpark pricing to put in a floor to help deal with moisture and provide some storage space.

After having an energy audit, we added cellulose insulation to the attic and spray foam on the basement kneewall for weatherization, since then despite a dehumidifier and also adding a Venmar air exchanger we have had additional moisture in the summer months in the basement and mold in the closets in our ranch home. This is very frustrating, can you help us us?
