Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Crawl Space Repair Project in Hartford, Maine

System Design Specialist Michael M. met with homeowners in Hartford, Maine to evaluate their crawl space. The owners reported the wooden beams were wet, floors were warped, and the crawl space had a musty odor. To address the moisture, Foreman Ben and his crew encapsulated the crawl space with CleanSpace vapor barrier and drainage matting. A SmartSump pump now handles the groundwater, pumping it away from the home. Spray Foam insulation was installed on the walls and rim joists as an added vapor barrier, as well as to improve the home's energy efficiency. Lastly, new SmartJacks and supplemental beams help support and lift the warped floors above. SmartJacks are galvanized steel posts that will not rust, and can provide ample support to the home. They are able to be adjusted to lift and level the floors above to return them to their original flat position.
