In order to help the sellers close on the sale of their home, they needed to address their damp, musty crawlspace issues. The realtor reached out to TC Hafford Basement Systems to help assist with finding a solution. Our System Design Specialist Alan N. helped devise a plan to meet the three needs of the homeowner - a vapor barrier, dehumidifier, and a drainage system.   To fully encapsulate the crawl space and keep moisture and critters out, CleanSpace with Drainage Matting was installed. Drainage Matting is a durable barrier with dimples to help channel water and elevate the CleanSpace, keeping it clean. CleanSpace is a durable, inorganic vapor barrier that gets attached to the walls and seals up the crawl space, keeping moisture out. A SmartSump was installed to capture water and pump it through the new Exterior Buried Discharge line. The Discharge line takes the water far from the home and with the installation of IceGuard, the entire system is protected against ice buildup in the winter. Not only is the homeowner able to enjoy their home with better air quality and without having to worry about water in their crawl space. Finishing out the full waterproofing system was the installation of a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. The SaniDry Sedona drains directly to the SmartSump, which allows the basement to be kept at a safe humidity level all of the time without the homeowner having to empty a bucket of water to keep it running. Now the new homeowners can feel confident in having protected and usable space in their new home!
