Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Read the Room - Bristol Area Library's Crawlspace Needed Help!
The Bristol Area Library in Maine reached out to TC Hafford Basement Systems for help with their damp cellar and crawlspace. System Design Specialist Kathryn D. created a plan to keep the area dry and protected.
We first had to regrade the area and add clean stone to prep the space. We encapsulated the entire area with CleanSpace with drainage matting. CleanSpace is an inorganic vapor barrier that seals the crawlspace to protect it from moisture, and prevents the growth of mold and mildew. Two SmartSump pump systems were installed, one on each end of the building, both of which had their own exterior buried discharge line to remove any water away from the library. Due to the size of the space, we added 4 SaniDry Sedona high efficiency air purifiers, which help filter dust and mold spores, as well as control the moisture in the air. Lastly, we installed SprayFoam insulation on the rim joists to further protect and seal the crawlspace.
