1800's Bowing Foundation Saved with StableLock
Challenge
Our Auburn, ME homeowner reached out to TC Hafford Basement Systems for help with their 1800's granite foundation. The walls were bowing in some areas, and they also had water coming into the basement. System Design Specialist Jordan T. met with the homeowners to give a free estimate on waterproofing and stabilizing their basement.
Solution
To waterproof the space, we installed WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement, which channels any water to the brand new TripleSafe Sump Pump. The TripleSafe removes water from the basement through an exterior buried discharge line, away from the home. To secure the bowing foundation, we installed StableLock wall system. StableLock Wall System uses modern concrete forming and shoring techniques to fill the voids of the existing wall and stabilizing it to leave a smooth wall. Traditionally, a failing foundation would be repaired by lifting the home and a new foundation being poured. The homeowner would have to move out for a period of time and the costs can be astronomical. With StableLock, the homeowner never has to leave their home, and they can save money all while getting the benefit of a new foundation wall.
