This Newburgh, Maine basement was often wet, causing stress for the homeowners. We completed a full basement waterproofing update to keep their space dry and protected. First we poured a new concrete floor with WaterGuard perimeter drainage system. A TripleSafe sump pump was added, connecting to the WaterGuard, to collect moisture and pump it away from the home through an exterior buried discharge line. The TripleSafe has two Zoeller pumps to handle high capacity events, as well as a third battery back up pump to keep the system operating even if the property loses power. Moisture had caused their wooden beams to weaken, so we added SmartJacks steel posts to keep the home stablized. Lastly, a SaniDry Sedona controls the humidity to a healthy level, keeping the air free of added moisture.
We recently helped a church in Searsport, Maine with their wet and leaking basement. Water was coming in through the old rock walls, and had even caused mold. After mold remediation, the church contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems for help waterproofing the space to prevent any future issues. We encapsulated the area with CleanSpace vapor barrier, which seals out water. CleanSpace is made from an inorganic material, so it also prevents mold growth. Spray Foam insulation was installed on the walls and rim joists to provide an added air and moisture seal, as well as energy improvements for the building.
This Winterport, ME, homeowner was looking to save money on their energy bill and have a more energy-efficient home. Their crawlspace wasn’t sealed, which allowed cold air to seep in, leading to higher heating bills. Wanting to take care of the issue and create a more comfortable home, the homeowner scheduled a free estimate with Dr. Energy Saver by TC Hafford Basement Systems. System Design Specialist Nima Farshid met with the homeowner, and they worked together to design a crawl space encapsulation system that would help them achieve a more energy-efficient home.
The space needed to be encapsulated to create an inorganic barrier between the outside elements and the crawl space. Drainage Matting was laid down, which features large, stiff dimples that create a gap. CleanSpace is laid on top of the Drainage Matting and attached to the walls. CleanSpace encapsulates the crawl space, and with the white coating, CleanSpace helps to brighten the area, making it ideal for storage. Finally, SprayFoam was installed around the rim joist and where necessary. Now the homeowner is able to live in a more comfortable home without having to continuously change their thermostat and while saving money on their energy bill.
This Vinalhaven, ME homeowner wanted to take care of their basement and preserve the health of their beautiful home. After noticing how wet their crawlspace would get, the homeowners called TC Hafford Basement Systems, and System Design Specialist Todd Bernard met with the homeowner to help them accomplish their goals. Todd put together a complete system that would protect the home from future water. In the system, Todd used CleanSpace with drainage matting to encapsulate the crawlspace portion of the basement. In addition to the CleanSpace, Todd used WaterGuard to capture any water and move it to a TripleSafe Sump Pump System where it will be pumped 40 feet away from the home through a buried discharge line. Now the homeowner can rest easy at night, knowing that their basement is now protected, and the health of their home is preserved.
Living in a home with a regularly flooding basement, this Bangor, ME homeowner was looking for ways to put an end to this flooding. The homeowner was referred to us at TC Hafford Basement Systems and called our office in Wells, ME to ask about a free estimate. After hearing what we could do for them, the homeowner hired us to get started on solving their wet basement problem.
When our installation crew arrived at the home, their first task was to remove the old basement floor and replace it by pouring a fresh slab. This new slab, however, was fitted with WaterGuard Piping around the perimeter, just below the surface. These pipes inside the floor will capture any moisture leaking in through the concrete, trapping it and directing it to the newly installed SuperSump pump. Now any leaking water will be removed from the basement by the SuperSump before any of it can reach the surface of the floor. The water then exits the discharge line a distance from the home where it can harmlessly drain into the ground.
With a proper waterproofing system in place below their home, this homeowner can now expect to find a dry basement even during rainfall. The WaterGuard piping alongside the SuperSump pump will ensure this basement remains completely water-free!
