Rumford, ME homeowners contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems for help with their wet basement with dirt floors. They were tired of dealing with a muddy mess every time water came into the basement. System Design Specialist Sam C. created a plan to solve their water woes.
First we poured a new concrete slab floor to cover the dirt flooring. WaterGuard was installed around the perimeter of the basement to channel water to the new TripleSafe Sump Pump system. The TripleSafe features two Zoeller sumps and a battery-powered backup. The TripleSafe drains water out of the basement and through an Exterior Buried Discharge line that is protected against ice buildup in the winter with IceGuard. CleanSpace Wall System was installed to act as a vapor barrier where needed and channel any additional moisture from the walls to the WaterGuard. A SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was installed to control the moisture in the space. SprayFoam insulation was added to the rim joists to create an air tight seal and protect against moisture.
The new homeowner of a Rumford, Maine property realized their basement leaked every time it rained. They called TC Hafford Basement Systems for a free estimate to find the cause of the leak and waterproof the basement. We installed a TripleSafe sump pump that features three pumps to handle high capacity water events, and it has a battery back up to continue working in the event of a power outage. WaterGuard perimeter drainage system was installed around the basement to collect water and channel it directly to the sump pump to be removed. We installed CleanSpace Wall System on the leaking walls. CleanSpace is an inorganic vapor barrier that seals moisture out, and also prevents mold growth. The CleanSpace was sealed with Spray Foam insulation to ensure no moisture or air would be affecting the liner.
This Steep Falls homeowner wanted to finish their basement but faced a dilemma: when it rained, water would enter the basement leading to mold growth and damaged items. With a budget in mind, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems and met with System Design Specialist Sam Crowley. Together they sat down and created a system that met the needs of the homeowner and would protect the home so they could finally finish the space. WaterGuard was installed around the perimeter of the basement that will channel the water to a TripleSafe Sump Pump. The water must go somewhere so the TripleSafe is connected to an exterior Discharge Line that is buried so it is out of sight and out of mind. Now the homeowner can remodel their basement and enjoy the space without concern.
This Cape Neddick, ME, homeowner had been dealing with cold floors due to an uninsulated crawl space. Wanting to save money on their energy bills and make their home more energy efficient, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems for a free estimate. Dr. Energy Saver System Design Specialist Josh Hamel met with the homeowner to work with them to design an energy-saving system for their home. Closed cell SprayFoam was installed along the rim joists and on the walls to insulate the crawl space. Cold air is kept out and warm air in, keeping the homeowners floors warmer in the winter without the need to spend money keeping the heat on in their home higher than it needs to be.
This basement was in desperate need for improvement. It is now much better thanks to the help of CleanSpace Encapsulation and Spray Foam. The basement will be dry and much more energy efficient.
