This Swanville, ME, homeowner has had a leaky basement for over five years and has noticed it getting progressively worse over the last year. Water has been coming in and creating a small stream in front of their fireplace, which has ruined the bottom of the walls, making it impossible to finish the basement. With no plans to move anytime soon, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems for help. System Design Specialist Nima Farshid sat with the homeowner to design a waterproofing system that would address the needs of the home and exceed the homeowner's expectations. A WaterGuard Perimeter Drain was installed and connected to a SuperSump, which is attached to an exterior buried discharge line that takes the water far from the home, preventing further issues. With waterproofing protection in place, the homeowner is now free to finish their basement and finally turn it into a usable space.
Clogged gutters lead to overflowing water, damage to the roof of a home, and create situations where homeowners could get hurt on a ladder, especially during the winter months when ice can build up. Gutter Shutter’s unique design prevents clogging and allows the homeowner to enjoy the benefits of gutters without the headache they can leave them with. This Belfast, ME, homeowner was looking to replace their old clogged gutter with something new, so they called Gutter Shutter by TC Hafford Basement Systems for a free estimate. System Design Specialist Josh Hamel met with the homeowner and worked with them to design a Gutter Shutter system that would protect their home from rainwater.
Gutter Shutter features a larger, six-inch aluminum build that is formed and cut on site to allow for a seamless design that can fit any size needed, whether the home requires a 2-foot section or a 90-foot section of gutter. With the integration of the shutter on top, pine needles, leaves, and even small critters such as squirrels are kept out of the gutter, preventing clogs. Since water is able to flow unobstructed even during heavy storms, ice buildup during the winter months isn’t a problem, and snow melting on the roof won’t turn into icicles that could potentially be dangerous to the homeowner. Gutters are necessary to prevent soil erosion and water runoff that could lead to larger, more expensive problems, such as water in a homeowners basement that could lead to damage and the loss of belongings. Gutter Shutter allows the homeowner to keep their home healthy and themselves safe from the dangers of climbing ladders to clear a clog.
Looking for a way to seal a couple cracks that had opened along the concrete wall in their garage, this Corinth, ME homeowner called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems to ask about a free estimate. Shortly after they met with our sales representative and reviewed their options, they gave us the go-ahead to begin work on the crack-repair. As soon as our installation crew arrived at the property, they prepared the cracks by brushing them clear of debris using a coarse brush. Once clear, the cracks were covered by an initial layer of sealant. This was quickly covered by a foam pad running the length of each crack. The foam was then covered by a second layer of sealant, completing the FlexiSpan seal over the cracks. The foam core within these seals allows them to bend and remain water-tight against the wall should the concrete walls shift slightly in the future.
With their new seals in place over these cracks, this homeowner Will no longer need to be concerned about water leaking into the garage and polling up on the slab. The FlexiSpan seals will keep this wall water-tight for years to come!
This Corinth, ME, homeowner has been dealing with water coming into their basement during heavy rains, leading to damage to the walls and carpet. Tired of having to shop vac water off the floor and wanting to protect their home from more costly damage, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems and booked a free estimate. System Design Specialist Craig Ziegenbein met with the homeowner, and together they worked on designing a waterproofing system to protect the basement.
To take care of the issue, parts of the wall were removed for the installation of WaterGuard. WaterGuard is installed in the problem areas along the perimeter of the space and under the slab to collect water and channel it to the new SuperSump Sump Pump. The SuperSump is capable of sucking up groundwater and the water channeled from the WaterGuard and pumping it out of the basement through the new Buried Discharge Line. The Buried Discharge takes the water far from the home where it won’t cause any issues, and with IceGuard built in, the system is protected against ice buildup, keeping the system running year round. With the waterproofing system installed, the homeowner is able to refinish their basement without their money and hard work going to waste, and the space will be protected against water in the future.
After years of living with a flooding basement this homeowner in Hampden, ME contacted us at TC Hafford Basement Systems in order to solve their problem. When our crew arrived, they were able to get started on the damp concrete floor by installing a WaterGuard piping system around the perimeter. This system feeds directly into the TripleSafe sump pump also installed within the floor. Now when any water leaks in towards this basement interior, the WaterGuard system will capture it and force it out of the home through the TripleSafe pump. Finally, an IceGuard pipe segment and LawnScape discharge port were attached to the PVC discharge line used to carry the water from the home.
Now this homeowner can utilize their basement without needing to worry about the constant flooding that they are used to.
