Southport, ME Crawlspace Encapsulated with CleanSpace

Homeowners from Southport, ME wanted help controlling the moisture problem in their basement. System Design Specialist Louis D. from TC Hafford Basement Systems gave the homeowners a free estimate on the needed improvements.

We installed CleanSpace with drainage matting. Drainage Matting is a durable barrier with dimples to help channel water and elevate the CleanSpace, keeping it clean. CleanSpace is a durable, inorganic vapor barrier that gets attached to the walls and seals up the crawl space, keeping moisture out. A SuperSump pump system was also installed, with an exterior buried discharge line to remove any water away from the home. The discharge line is protected with IceGuard from freezing up in the winter. Lastly, a SaniDry Sedona air purification system was added to keep the air healthy from dust and mold spores, as well as control the moisture in the space.

The Troubles of No Gutters and How Gutter Shutter Helps

Without gutters, a home can experience a variety of issues, such as soil erosion, damage to the landscape, pest infestation, and higher maintenance costs. Water can pool around the foundation of a home, which can lead to structural issues and damage to a home. Too much water around the fascia board can result in rotting over time, giving small critters access points in a home’s attic. Landscaping can also be ruined from oversaturation, and soil erosion can lead to damaged roots, killing flowers, bushes, and any other vegetation that would be around a home. This homeowner in Harmony, ME, wanted to avoid these issues, so they booked a free estimate with Gutter Shutter by TC Hafford Basement Systems.

System Design Specialist Josh Hamel met with the homeowner and worked with them to design a Gutter Shutter system that would fit the needs and aesthetics of their home. Gutter Shutter comes in multiple colors, allowing the homeowner to pick an option that matches with their home to prevent the gutter from sticking out. Gutter Shutter offers a larger, six-inch aluminum gutter that is formed and cut to length on site, resulting in a seamless construction. This means that Gutter Shutter is able to be constructed to fit a space on a home as short or as long as needed. The integrated shutter allows water to flow into the gutter but keeps leaves, critters, and other debris out, creating a clog-free design. With Gutter Shutter, a homeowner no longer needs to climb a ladder to clear a clog, and with the tough design, Gutter Shutter is strong enough to handle the harsh Maine winters. Ice buildup is a major concern in the winter months, as icicles can be dangerous and the additional weight could be harmful to the home. Gutter Shutter is able to handle thawing snow better, preventing ice from building up. Now that the homeowner is protected with Gutter Shutter, they are able to keep their home healthier, and any landscaping that they decide to do won't be wasted because of water running off of their roof.

Basement Moisture Management in Waterville, ME

We recently installed our CleanSpace Drainage Matting in a customer's basement. This specialized matting is designed to create a gap between the floor and the mat, allowing water to flow freely underneath and directing it to a drainage system. This helps keep the basement dry by preventing water from pooling and reducing moisture buildup. It's an effective solution for managing water issues and maintaining a healthier, drier space.

Basement Drainage System With High-Performance Sump System Installation in Waterville, ME

The WaterGuard drainage system is installed around the perimeter of the basement floor to collect water that seeps in through the walls or floor. It directs this water to the TripleSafe sump pump, which then pumps the water out and away from the home. Together, they create a comprehensive waterproofing solution to keep the basement dry and prevent future water issues.

Flooding Waterville, ME Basement Kept Dry with WaterGuard Installation

Looking to keep their regularly wet basement dry, this Waterville, ME homeowner called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems for their free estimate. Liking what we could offer them, they hired us right away to solve their moisture problems. First, to create a barrier protecting against leaking water, both a WaterGuard piping system and CleanSpace liner were installed around the perimeter of the basement floor and walls respectively. The CleanSpace liner will both brighten up the basement interior while providing protection against any moisture seeping through the concrete walls. This blocked water, as well as water leaking in from below the basement will enter the WaterGuard piping buried within the floor. Once inside these specialized pipes, the water is guided straight to a SuperSump installed nearby in the floor. With the help of an UltraSump backup battery for power outage protection; the SuperSump will remove any water that would have otherwise found its way to the surface of this basement floor.

With these new waterproofing solutions in place below their home, this homeowner can expect their basement to remain dry even during heavy rainfall. The WaterGuard & SuperSump duo will keep this home water-free for years to come!
