Total Crawl Space Encapsulation in Farmington, Maine
A homeowner in Farmington, Maine, contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems to explore solutions for their crawl space. With a low ceiling height of around four feet and a dirt floor, the space was consistently damp, raising concerns about mold and structural damage. After an on-site assessment, our experts recommended a full encapsulation to address the moisture problem. We installed a CleanSpace liner to seal the space, paired with drainage matting to guide water away from the foundation. To further improve air quality and prevent future dampness, we added a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier on a stand and applied spray foam insulation to create a comprehensive moisture barrier.     The results were immediately apparent. The crawl space became dry, comfortable, and far more functional, giving the homeowner peace of mind about the long-term health of their home. They were highly satisfied with the improvements, recognizing the significant upgrade to their living conditions and home protection.
Cracked Basement Wall in Durham, ME, Fixed With FlexiSpan
A homeowner in Durham noticed a crack in their basement wall, this could lead to potential water leakage. Having done business with us in the past, the homeowner gave TC Hafford Basement Systems a call! We had a representative on site shortly after to give an estimate on the crack repair. Once the homeowner decided, we got to work. The crack was first filled with a sealant. This acts as the first line of defence against water trying to enter the crack, but won’t be enough for a permanent fix. We then laid down a foam matting over the top of the sealant. This foam is finally covered with a layer of sealant. This technique, called FlexiSpan, completely locks out any water trying to enter through the crack. The way the FlexiSpan is layered allows it to be flexible and conform to the crack should it shift at all. Problem solved!
Basement In Lisbon, ME Finished Properly With WaterGuard
A homeowner in Lisbon was looking to have their basement finished to use as a living space. But before they could begin, they needed to do something about their water problem. Water had been leaking into the basement somehow, and gathering in puddles. Seeking a way to resolve this before moving forward, the homeowner soon heard about TC Hafford Basement Systems from a family friend. The homeowner called us right away to set up a meeting to receive a free estimate. After reviewing his options, the homeowner made his selection and we got to work! Our crew started by digging up the inside perimeter of the basement floor. This newly created trench gave us a space to lay down our WaterGuard pipe system. It was then covered over with loose rocks and cement to conceal it without hindering functionality. The WaterGuard captures water as it enters the basement through the walls or floor. This water is then guided to the sump in the basement. Within the sump, we installed a SuperSump sump pump. This pump will take the collected water and push it up and out of the basement through a PVC discharge line. Outside the home, attached to the discharge line, we added an IceGuard filter. This filter will allow water to continue to flow from the basement even if the lower end of the pipe is blocked by debris. Finally, to kick start the finishing of the basement, we laid down ThermalDry flooring tiles. These specially designed tiles sit on the concrete floor, and using a thick foam layer, insulate their surface from the cold temperatures of the concrete. With these systems in place, the surface of the basement floor will remain perfectly dry. Now this homeowner can finish his basement with peace of mind, knowing no more water will enter the living space!
Wet Crawlspace In South Freeport, ME Kept Dry With CleanSpace
A couple in South Freeport were experiencing problems with their crawlspace. Water was finding its way inside during rain, and causing moisture to build up in the air and on the floor. This was a perfect habitat for mold to grow, and the homeowner wanted to change this before they developed a serious mold problem. They soon heard about TC Hafford Basement Systems and gave us a call. We had a representative inspect the crawlspace and then we got to work! We needed to stop the water from entering the crawlspace. To do this, we encapsulated the walls and floor with a CleanSpace Liner. This liner will seal off the crawlspace from exterior moisture, not allowing any to pass through into the interior of the crawlspace. We then installed a SaniDry XP dehumidifier. This machine will cycle through the air in the crawlspace, drying out any moisture gathering in the air. This dry air completely removes the environment in which mold grows, killing off any mold starting to grow in the crawlspace. Now this couple is worry free, with a mold-free crawlspace that will remain dry no matter how hard it rains!
Flooding Crawlspace In Freeport, ME Properly Waterproofed With CleanSpace
A homeowner in Freeport was in the market for a vapor barrier for their crawlspace. They had never had one properly installed, and with a dirt crawlspace, would routinely have water flood the space. Soon after they started their search for a vapor barrier, the homeowner received a letter advertising TC Hafford Basement Systems. They researched our company, and gave us the call. We had a representative investigate the crawlspace, and then we got to work! We began by installing a SmartSump in the floor of the crawlspace, where the most water collected. This sump will evacuate the water gathering in this point of the crawlspace through a PVC discharge line. We then lined the inside perimeter of the wall/floor joint with a Drainage Matting. This mat will reduce the amount of water entering the interior of the crawlspace. Finally, we encapsulated the crawlspace with a CleanSpace liner. This liner covers all of the surfaces that water normally enters through. Being made of plastic, water will never pierce the CleanSpace. Maintaining a dry crawlspace atmosphere for many years to come. This finished the homeowners new vapor barrier. Keeping their originally dirt crawlspace dry by keeping the water out!
Wayne, ME Crawlspace Kept Dry with CleanSpace Installation
When this homeowner living in Wayne, ME began to notice signs of moisture build up below their home, they wanted to know what their options were. After consulting the Yellow Pages, they called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems to find out if we could solve their problem. We set them up with a free estimate where the homeowner talked over their options with our sales representative. Once they selected how they wanted us to approach solving their moisture trouble, we dispatched our installation crew to get started! When the crew arrived at the home, they began work on keeping the crawlspace dry by installing a SmartDrain system within the natural low point of the floor. This will pull in any gathering water and drain it away from the home. Next, a Drainage Matting was laid across the floor of the space. This mat, resting on grooves in itself, forms channels against the floor below. The water blocked by the finished vapor barrier will follow these channels to the drain. Finally, a CleanSpace liner was used to encapsulate the interior of the crawlspace. This forms a water-tight seal against any outside moisture. Any leaking water will now gather on the exterior of this barrier and flow downward to the floor, where it will drain out of the home. With these new improvements below their home, this homeowner should soon notice the musty smell fade from their home. The CleanSpace barrier will keep their crawlspace dry and healthy in the future!
WaterGuard Installation Keeps New Portland, ME Basement Dry
A couple living in New Portland, ME was having some problems with their concrete foundation. During rainfall, water would leak into the basement, with the foundation doing little to keep the water out. Tired of these wet basement conditions, the homeowners searched online for a solution. They soon found TC Hafford Basement Systems and contacted us to get their free estimate. Shorlty after they hired us to take care of their wet basement! As soon as our installation crew arrived they were able to begin work on the foundation to keep out any future leaks. To begin, a shallow trench was excavated into the perimeter of the concrete floor. WaterGuard piping was then used to line this trench, surrounding the basement. Fresh concrete was used to seal the WaterGuard within the floor where it will capture any leaking moisture that might have otherwise made it into the basement. The water trapped inside the WaterGuard is guided within the floor to the sump where a SuperSump pump was installed. The SuperSump then takes the collected water and forces it up and out of the home through a PVC discahrge line. Now that their basement has been properly waterproofed, these homeowners can make use of the space. The WaterGuard & SuperSump will ensure this basement stays dry for years into the future!

TripleSafe Sump Upgrade Prevents Flooding in Sabattus, ME Basement
A homeowner living in Sabattus, ME had been experiencing some mild basement flooding. Even though they had a sump in the floor, the water would occasionally be too much and the basement would begin to flood. Looking to put an end to this, the homeowner searched online for a solution. Once they found TC Hafford Basement Systems, they called us right away to receive their free estimate. They thought over their options and then gave us the go-ahead to beign work! As soon as our installation crew arrived, they got started upgrading the existing sump. A TripleSafe sump pump was installed where the old sump was. This device houses three individual pumps, each operating to keep the basement water-free. The primary and secondary pumps pump out the bulk of the water, the second pump only activating when the primary has trouble keeping up with the amount of water present. The third pump is a battery operated pump, to keep the basement safe from flooding during any power-outages. These will keep any water out of the home around the clock. The water from the sump is pumped up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line. This line carries the water through the lawn before it exits through a LawnScape pipe piece on the end. This piece has a grate over the top to allow the water out while keeping debris from blowing into the line. Just beyond where the discharge line exits the home, an IceGuard pipe piece was attached to the line. This piece has special holes built-in that allow for blocked water to escape the line. This protects against any ice that might form and block the lower end of the line. Now that their basement is properly waterproofed, this homeowner can utilize the space however they please. The TripleSafe pump will ensure no more flooding occurs.
