No More Puddles in Portland, ME Basement
A homeowner in Portland, ME, recently experienced a disheartening issue: after the snow began to thaw, they discovered small puddles forming in their basement. Realizing the potential damage and inconvenience this could cause, they reached out to our team at TC Hafford Basement Systems for a reliable solution. We proposed the installation of our advanced TripleSafe Sump Pump and WaterGuard drainage system. Under the guidance of a skilled foreman, our production team installed the WaterGuard system, carefully positioning it beneath the basement floor and along the perimeter to seamlessly capture any water passing through. This strategically designed drainage system efficiently directed water towards the sump pump. The centerpiece of our approach was the TripleSafe Sump Pump, renowned for its reliability. Positioned adeptly within a sump liner, it guarantees continuous operation with its triple system, ensuring protection against common pump failures—including excessive water volumes and power outages. Thanks to the collaboration of our team and the innovative systems used, the homeowner's basement issues were swiftly resolved. The previously damp space was transformed into a dry, usable area, offering the homeowner both peace of mind and functional space, reinforcing the commitment of TC Hafford Basement Systems to long-lasting solutions.
Sump Pump Upgrade in Auburn, ME, Home
TC Hafford was contacted shortly after a homeshow to head out to Auburn, ME, to check out some cracking basement walls and an old sump that was ready for an upgrade. After taking a look at the site, Mike Pinard had a crew come out to install the new SuperSump sump pump in the home as well as seal up any cracks. The newly installed sump pump was connected and drained to the same sewer as the previous pump. While the customer noted their basement hadn’t yet started flooding, they were completely satisfied with the work done, and felt much more comfortable with a brand-new pump.
Water Coming Through Bulkhead in Auburn, ME
Our Auburn, ME homeowner contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems for a free estimate to waterproof their basement. After 10 years of having a dry basement, they suddenly began getting water into the basement through the bulkhead with each rain. We installed TrenchDrain at the bulkhead doorway, coupled with WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement. These products channel any water and moisture to the homeowners new TripleSafe sump pump. The TripleSafe features two Zoeller sumps and a battery-powered backup. The TripleSafe drains water out of the basement and through an Exterior Buried Discharge line that is protected against ice buildup in the winter with IceGuard.
Moist Basement in Jay, ME, Dried and Sealed
A couple from Jay had a basement that would always be wet. They would keep some belongings in the basement, and these items would always get moist not long after being left in the basement. This was a problem for these homeowners, and so after seeing an ad on TV, they contacted TC Hafford. We took a look at the basement and informed the homeowners of their options for how to remedy the situation. After they chose which option they preferred, we got to work! There was a crack located in one of the walls, this was the main entrance for the water flowing into the basement. This crack was soon covered with FexiSpan. FlexiSpan is a special three layer seal that both prevents water from coming through any crack, and also allows the seal itself to bend if the crack shifts at all. We then installed a SaniDry XP dehumidifier. This keeps any moisture out of the air that might still make its way into the basement. Now this couple no longer needs to fret when it comes to their belongings becoming wet.

WaterGuard Piping Keeps Livermore, ME Basemet Safe from Flooding
Unsure how to keep rainwater from leaking in through their concrete foundation, this Livermore, ME homeowner needed a way to keep their basement dry. After a particularly bad storm, they decided it was time to look online for a solution. They soon found TC Hafford Basement Systems and called us right away to have an estimate done. To keep the moisture from entering this basement, WaterGuard piping would need to be installed, so the homeowner hired us to get the job done! Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they began work on the basement right away. A shallow trench was excavated in the perimeter of the basement flooor to allow for the WaterGuard piping to be laid. Loose rocks and concrete were used to seal the pipes within the floor without hindering their function. The WaterGuard inside the basement floor will now collect any leaking moisture and guide it to the sump to be removed. Within the sump, we installed a SmartSump pump to force any water up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line. Outside the home, two additions were added to this discharge line to complete the waterproofing. The first was an IceGuard pipe segment attached just beyond where the line leaves the home. This piece has special holes built in which allow for any water blocked in the line to escape without backing up into the basement. Finally, a LawnScape piece was used to cap the end of the line. This will allow the water to exit the line onto the lawn while keeping out debris that might otherwise accumulate inside the pipe. With these new installations, this homeowner should no longer need to worry about rainfall causing any flooding beneath their home. The WaterGuard will keep out any future flooding.
Leaking Basement In Cape Elizabeth, ME Protected by WaterGuard
A homeowner in Cape Elizabeth was in the market for basement waterproofing. They’d been dealing with water flooding their basement for too long, and needed something done about it. Looking for a professional consultation, the homeowner soon heard about TC Hafford Basement Systems from a family friend. They were in contact with us right away, and we had a representative inspect the basement to give the homeowner a free estimate. They then gave us the green light and we began work! Our crew started by excavating the interior perimeter of the basement floor. This created a trench for us to emplace our WaterGuard pipe system, which was then covered over with loose rocks and cement. This hides the WaterGuard within the floor, while still allowing for it to function properly. This pipe system will catch water as it tries to leak into the basement, guiding it to the sump within the basement. In the sump, we installed a SuperSump sump pump. This pump will take the water gathered within it and push it up and out of the basement through a PVC discharge line. These two products working in tandem will maintain a dry basement floor. This homeowner now no longer needs to worry about heavy rains flooding his basement!
The Search for a Reliable Sump Pump is Over
This Cape Elizabeth, ME, homeowner was tired of their old sump pump going in and out and not working as it should, allowing water to cover their basement floor. The homeowner booked a free estimate with TC Hafford Basement Systems, and System Design Specialist Peter Folsom worked with the homeowner to design a new sump system that would fit their needs. A TripleSafe Sump Pump was installed in the basement's low spot to capture groundwater and take care of it before it could cause any problems. The Triple Safe features two Zoeller sumps to handle heavy rain situations with the added protection of a battery backup pump. The water gets pumped out of the basement and far away from the home through a Buried Discharge Line. Maine gets cold, so to prevent ice buildup from being a problem during the winter months, IceGuard was installed on the Discharge line to ensure the system will run with no hiccups. The homeowner is happy and can use their basement freely without worrying about their items being damaged by water.
