We recently helped homeowners in Castine, Maine waterproof their basement. The owners rent the home, and the tenants noticed a strong musty odor, as well as water leaking into the basement when it rained. We poured a new slab floor, complete with WaterGuard perimeter drainage system. CleanSpace vapor barrier was installed on the walls to seal out moisture and prevent mold growth. A TripleSafe sump pump was installed, which connects to the WaterGuard to collect water and pump it away from the home. We also added a SaniDry Sedona high efficiency system to filter allergens, and control the humidity in the space, preventing any odor issues.
