System Design Specialist Craig Z. helped homeowners in Burnham, Maine who were interested in a vapor barrier for their crawl space. Dirt floor crawl spaces often allow moisture to easily seep in, which can lead to bigger problems such as mold and wood rot. We installed our two-step encapsulation system, first by adding a layer of drainage matting to control the groundwater, and then our CleanSpace vapor barrier liner. CleanSpace seals out moisture and because it is made of inorganic materials it does not allow mold growth. Not only will their home structure stay protected, but by encapsulating the crawl space the homeowners have also improved their indoor air quality.
