Crawl Space Repair Before & After Photos

We installed SmartJacks in this Warren, Maine crawl space that had weakened from moisture problems. When the wooden support beams and joists are exposed to moisture, they will weaken over time, causing the floors to sag. SmartJacks are galvanized steel posts that will not rust, and are custom fit to the space. They provide added stabilization to the home, and can even be adjusted to lift and level the floors back to their original position.

We recently helped Atkinson, Maine homeowners to improve the insulation in their basement so they no longer had to deal with cold floors in their home. Spray Foam insulation was installed on the walls and rim joists, filling all the gaps to create an air tight seal. Spray Foam is also water and mold resistant, making it a great option for basements and crawl spaces to act as a vapor barrier as well. Homeowners typically notice immediate improvements to their home energy after the Spray Foam is installed.

A Tenants Harbor, Maine home was under contract to sell, but the crawl space was damp and had musty odors. The buyers were interested in encapsulating the crawl space to prevent any damage or smells. Homeowners in Jackson, Maine had a property that had been built in three sections over the years, which in turn created three separate foundation area. One of those was a crawl space that was wet and need to be encapsulated. After providing a free estimate, the owners scheduled their project with Foreman Greg. He installed drainage matting to control the groundwater, and then our CleanSpace vapor barrier liner to seal out moisture. Etna, ME homeowners wanted help with their cold, musty, and damp crawlspace that had dirt floors. System Design Specialist Craig Z. from TC Hafford Basement Systems met with the homeowners to give a free estimate on encapsulating their crawlspace to keep it protected. 

First we prepped the space by removing the old plastic liner. To fully encapsulate the crawlspace and keep moisture and critters out, CleanSpace with Drainage Matting was installed. Drainage Matting is a durable barrier with dimples to help channel water and elevate the CleanSpace, keeping it clean. CleanSpace is a durable, inorganic vapor barrier that gets attached to the walls and seals up the crawl space, keeping moisture out. A SmartSump was installed to capture water and pump it through the new Exterior Buried Discharge line. The Discharge line takes the water far from the home and with the installation of IceGuard, the entire system is protected against ice buildup in the winter. SprayFoam insulation was added to the walls and rim joists as an added layer of protection, offering an air tight seal and preventing moisture from entering the crawlspace. Finishing out the full waterproofing system was the installation of a SaniDry Sedona air purifier and dehumidifier. The homeowner is able to enjoy their home with better air quality and without having to worry about water in their crawlspace.
