Saint George, ME homeowner was experiencing water intrusion in their basement, mostly where the walls met their old dirt and concrete floor. We poured a new slab with drainage matting, along with WaterGuard around the basement perimeter, to capture any water coming into the space. WaterGuard connects directly to a new TripleSafe sump pump to remove water away from the home through an exterior buried discharge line. The discharge line is protected from freezing up in the winter months with IceGuard.
System Design Specialist Craig Z. met with Brooks, ME homeowner to give a free estimate on foundation work. The homeowner wanted to seal and stabilize their exterior foundation stone wall which was cracking and crumbling. We removed the old stones and poured a StableLock wall. The StableLock system allows us to install a fresh, smooth concrete wall that reinforces an existing wall without having to lift the home. Now our homeowners can rest knowing their home is safe!
Over time, a support beam in this Dixmont, ME, home began to rot, causing the floor to become uneven. The homeowner, who had lived in the home since the 1980s with no plans to move, decided to fix the problem and called TC Hafford Basement Systems. System Design Specialist Alan Noyes met with the homeowner and spent time in the crawl space evaluating the damage before sitting down to design a system specifically for this home. Since the support beam was rotting, it needed to be replaced. Alan decided that the best solution for the home would be a new supplemental beam with four SmartJacks. Once installed in the crawl space, SmartJack supports can correct issues such as sloping or overly springy floors, interior wall cracks, and out-of-level door frames. The floors are now stable, and the homeowner no longer has to worry about further damage to the structure of the home.
We used slab piers to lift and level the sinking concrete floor. These piers were installed beneath the slab to reach stable soil, providing the support needed to raise the floor back to its original position. The process was efficient and restored the floor's stability and functionality.
Bangor, ME basement had bulging walls that concerned the homeowners, so they contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems for help. We installed StableLock Wall, a poured concrete wall that goes directly over the failing wall to prevent further shifting or bowing. StableLock provides structural support to the home, and is much less costly and disruptive than traditional foundation repairs that would involve lifting the home. The homeowners are happy knowing their home is secure for many years to come!
