TC Hafford Basement Systems Before & After Photos

A previous customer already had our TripleSafe sump pump system at another property, so when they purchased their new property and had an old sump with a leaking basement, they gave us a call right away. We replaced their old sump with the TripleSafe system. The TripleSafe has three pumps - two Zoeller pumps, and a third battery backup pump. We also installed WaterGuard, a perimeter drainage system that collects water seeping into the basement and channels it to the TripleSafe to be pumped away. CleanSpace Wall System was installed on the walls as a vapor barrier to seal moisture out. A new SaniDry Sedona high efficiency air system was installed to control the humidity in the basement. Capable of removing over 100 pints of water from the air per day, the SaniDry Sedona is the world's most efficient dehumidifier. 

Tired of cleaning out their clogged gutters and wanting to get the problem solved quickly, this Bar Harbor, ME homeowner reached out to Gutter Shutter by TC Hafford Basement Systems. System Design Specialist Nima Farshid met with the homeowner and worked with them to design the gutter system of their dreams. With many colors to choose from, the homeowner was able to pick a Gutter Shutter system that matched their home. With the larger 6-inch gutter with a built-in shutter, the homeowner never has to climb a ladder to unclog their gutters ever again.

Moisture has wreaked havoc on this Bar Harbor, ME, crawl space, and the homeowner couldn’t let the issues continue, so they booked a free estimate with TC Hafford Basement Systems. System Design Craig Ziegenbein worked with the homeowner to design a system that would seal their crawl space and keep humidity from causing damage and rotting out the wood.

CleanSpace with Drainage Matting was first installed to encapsulate the area and create a barrier between the outside elements and the crawl space. Drainage Matting is a durable, dimpled matting that creates a channel that allows ground water to flow to the sump pump and elevates the CleanSpace to protect it. CleanSpace is an inorganic vapor barrier that gets attached to the walls to seal the crawl space from moisture and small critters. An UltraSump was installed to take the water from the area and pump it away from the home through a new Exterior Buried Discharge line. The Discharge line and the sump system are protected from freezing during the winter with the installation of IceGuard. To finish the encapsulation system, the old and rotting crawl space entrance cover was replaced with a new EverLast Access Panel that keeps air and moisture from coming into the crawl space.

Now the homeowner is happy being able to use their crawl space for storage with moisture no longer affecting the health of their home.

A buyer in Bar Harbor, ME faced issues with a wet crawl space causing serious moisture concerns, as seen in the before photo. This problem not only threatened structural integrity but also risked molding and increased energy costs. The sturdy 20-mil liner, reinforced and antimicrobial-treated, transformed the dank space into a dry and stable foundation. New owners of an investment property quickly discovered the walls and floors of the basement had water leaking into the space. We poured a brand new slab floor to protect the entire basement, along with slab WaterGuard, a perimeter drainage system. The WaterGuard channels any moisture directly to the TripleSafe sump pump system to remove it from the home. On the walls we installed CleanSpace Wall system along with SprayFoam insulation. CleanSpace is a vapor barrier that protects against cracking walls to seal moisture out, and because it is an inorganic material it also prevents mold growth. The SprayFoam insulation keeps the space air tight to help the owners save on energy bills. These new homeowners can now rest knowing their investment is protected.
