When a customer in Falmouth, Maine, noticed water seeping into their crawl space, they called TC Hafford for an expert assessment. Our thorough inspection revealed moisture buildup that could lead to long-term damage. We quickly addressed the problem by installing a CleanSpace liner, which prevents water vapor from entering the space, and drainage matting to manage water flow beneath the liner. Dr. Energy Saver spray foam was applied to further insulate and seal the area, while IceGuard provided protection against potential freeze-related damage. The homeowner was relieved by the comprehensive solution and was very satisfied with the transformed crawl space, confident that their home was now safeguarded against future moisture problems.
Over the past year, this Falmouth, ME homeowner has been dealing with water in their basement and, wanting to use the space, decided it was time to tackle the issue. System Design Specialist Lou DiStasio worked with the homeowner to design a system that would channel water, keeping the basement dry and the homeowners’ belongings safe.
The homeowner wanted to keep their whole basement dry year-round, so WaterGuard was installed around the perimeter of their basement. The WaterGuard channels the water to a connected TripleSafe Sump Pump that is connected to a Buried Exterior Discharge Line. In high-traffic areas such as doorways, TrenchLock is installed in place of WaterGuard to ensure all water is being collected. To finish off the system and keep the homeowners’ belongings safe, a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier was installed. Unlike most dehumidifiers, the SaniDry Sedona is connected to the TripleSafe Sump Pump, so the homeowner never has to worry about emptying a bucket of water, keeping their basement at an ideal humidity level.
The homeowner is able to spend Christmas now focusing on festivities and less on their basement, as it is now waterproofed and their belongings safe.

PowerBraces were installed on the bowing wall to stabilize it and protect the home from any damage. The PowerBrace system is constructed of zinc-plated steel beams and is custom fit to the basement wall height. PowerBraces are secured tight against the basement wall with brackets anchored to the basement floor and floor joists above. Our Falmouth, ME homeowner reached out to TC Hafford Basement Systems for help with their failing insulation. The crawlspace was very wet with insulation failing and falling away from the home. We installed CleanSpace with drainage matting to encapsulate the crawlspace and keep it dry. Drainage Matting is a durable barrier with dimples to help channel water and elevate the CleanSpace, keeping it clean. CleanSpace is a durable, inorganic vapor barrier that gets attached to the walls and seals up the crawl space, keeping moisture out. We also installed SprayFoam Insulation on the rim joists to replace the old insulation. SprayFoam helps keep cold air out during the winter, making the space more comfortable, and saving the homeowner money on their energy bill. Lastly we installed a SmartSump pump system, along with a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to help control the moisture. The SmartSump pump removes any water away from the home through an exterior buried discharge line.
