TC Hafford Basement Systems Before & After Photos

We recently helped homeowners in Kennebunk, Maine who wanted to insulate their basement to improve energy efficiency for the home. We installed Spray Foam insulation along the perimeter of the basement rim joists. Spray Foam expands as it is applied, so it fills all gaps, nooks and crannies. It is water and mold resistant, making it a great option for basements and crawl spaces. By sealing out the cold air, the entire home will have improved energy efficiency.

A Kennebunk, ME homeowner had contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems years prior for an estimate to waterproof their basement. After holding off on the repairs and dealing with more years of water headaches, they decided to schedule the installation with System Design Specialist Peter F. We installed WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement and connected it to a new TripleSafe Sump Pump. WaterGuard captures and channels water to the TripleSafe, which features two Zoeller sumps and a battery-powered backup in the event of power loss. The TripleSafe drains water out of the basement and through an Exterior Buried Discharge line that is protected against ice buildup with IceGuard.

We first installed new bulk head doors to prevent future leaks in that space. To protect the crawl space, we encapsulated the area with CleanSpace and drainage matting. CleanSpace is an inorganic vapor barrier that keeps moisture out and prevents mold growth. We also added a SaniDry Sedona high efficiency air system. The SaniDry not only controls humidity in the space, it also filters out dust and mold spores. Lastly, there was an area where the floors above were sagging so we installed two SmartJacks, a galvanized steel post system providing immediate lift and support to the failing area.

We first installed WaterGuard, a perimeter drainage system that collects water and directs it directly to the TripleSafe sump pump system. We also added BrightWall panels around the basement, a durable wall system that seals out moisture. BrightWall is easy to clean, and also helps prevent mold growth. 

Homeowners in Standish, Maine were ready to update and replace their old fiberglass attic insulation. They contacted our Dr. Energy Saver team at TC Hafford Basement Systems to help install TruSoft cellulose blown insulation. TruSoft is made of 85% recycled materials, and requires less manufacturing than fiberglass. It is also treated to be fire and mold resistant. It is easy to install, and can fill all of the nooks and crannies better than fiberglass insulation. These homeowners will enjoy improved energy efficiency!
