TC Hafford Basement Systems Before & After Photos

Windham, ME homeowners contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems for help with their wet basement. They have owned the home for nearly 50 years and had water getting in through multiple spots. System Design Specialist Thomas R. met with them to give a free estimate on improvements to keep their basement dry.

WaterGuard was installed around the perimeter of the basement and connected to a new SuperSump Plus system. WaterGuard captures and channels water to the SuperSump, which drains the water out of the basement and through an Exterior Buried Discharge line. The Exterior Buried Discharge line is protected against ice buildup in the winter with IceGuard. The basement is now protected against water leaks and the homeowners do not have to worry about their belongings being damaged by water.

Homeowners in Windham, Maine had water coming into their basement through a foundation wall crack. They were constantly using towels to clean up a wet mess. We met with the homeowners to provide a free estimate to waterproof the basement. We installed a section of CleanSpace Wall System over the cracked wall. CleanSpace Wall is a vapor barrie that seals out moisture, and directs any incoming water behind the liner and down to their new WaterGuard drainage system. WaterGuard is connected to the TripleSafe sump pump, channeling all water to the sump to be pumped away from the home. Their basement is now dry and they don't have to destroy towels cleaning up the mess anymore!

We helped homeowners in Windham, Maine who had reached out with concerns that their basement supports were rusting and going to fail. After providing a free estimate, they wanted to move forward with replacing their old lally columns with new SmartJacks. SmartJacks are galvanized steel posts that are custom fit to stabilize the home above. Each SmartJack can support 60,000 lbs, and the zinc coating on the post keeps it protected from rusting. 

Homeowners in Windham, Maine had ongoing moisture issues in their crawl space. We provided a free estimate in 2019, and returned again in 2026 after many more years of dealing with the problem. A family member with asthma had moved into the home, and improving the air quality was a big concern. Moisture in a crawl space can create mildew and mold, and the stack effect brings that air from the crawl space up into the home.

We encapsulated the crawl space with drainage matting and CleanSpace vapor barrier to seal out water. Spray Foam insulation was installed along the rim joists to improve the energy efficiency, as well as prevent moisture. Not pictured, we also installed a SaniDry Sedona high efficiency air system. The SaniDry Sedona not only controls the humidity to a healthy level, keeping the crawl space dry, it also has a MERV 8 filter to remove allergens such as mold spores.

We recently helped a Poland, Maine business owner lift and level their sunken concrete slab that had become a tripping hazard inside the store. With a nearly 3" drop the owner wanted to see what could be done to level the floor and keep their shop safe for customers. We used PolyLevel, an environmentally friendly injection that fills the voids underneath the slab to help lift and stabilize the concrete. We were able to lift the slab back to level, removing the tripping hazard.
