Having to contend with moisture accumulating in their basement using nothing but fans, this homeowner living in Windsor, ME needed a better way to keep the water at bay. After talking with our staff at TC Hafford Basement Systems and receiving their free estimate, this homeowner was ready to have us solve their wet basement problem with a new sump. Shortly after clearing a space and excavating a fresh sump, a SuperSump pump was installed in the floor of the basement. The SuperSump device is capable of removing water from the home at a rate of over 2,600 gallons of water per hour. This water flows out of the home through a PVC discharge line. On the exterior of the home, an IceGuard pipe segment as well as a LawnScape discharge port were attached to the discharge line. The IceGuard will protect against ice forming in the line while the LawnScape port provides a grate over the end of the line to keep debris from entering and causing blockages.
With a proper sump pump now installed in their basement floor, this homeowner can spend less time trying to keep their floor dry and more time relaxing. The SuperSump pump will keep this basement water-free for years to come!
After living with a damp basement for years, this homeowner thought it was time they had something done about it. They had us at TC Hafford Basement Systems take a look and we got to work waterproofing the space right away! We began by burying a WaterGuard piping system below the floor to absorb and guide incoming water to the sump. A SuperSump pump then takes the water and forces it out of the home through the discharge line. Finally, a CleanSpace Wall Liner was used to cover the walls of the basement, brightening up the space and proving an extra layer against moisture build up on the walls.
This Newcastle, ME, crawl space was humid, moldy, and filled with mildew. Needing to address the issues and fix the sagging and bouncy floors, the homeowner decided to book a free estimate with TC Hafford Basement Systems to fix the issues. System Design Specialist Jordan Tarbox met with the homeowner and worked with them to design an encapsulation and stabilizing system that would completely overhaul their crawl space and turn the space from a nightmare into the perfect place for storage.
First, the floors above needed to be stabilized to prevent walls from cracking and damaging the home. SmartJacks are made of galvanized steel and are capable of supporting the weight needed and have the ability to be adjusted over time if needed. Once the bouncy floor was addressed, encapsulating the crawl space and creating an inorganic barrier between the space and the outside elements was next. CleanSpace with Drainage Matting was laid down and attached to the walls with SprayFoam to ensure a tight seal. Drainage Matting is a durable matting with large dimples to create a channel for water to be directed to the low spot and helps to keep the CleanSpace elevated and clean. CleanSpace is a durable inorganic vapor barrier that protects crawl spaces from moisture and prevents critters from making their way into the area and causing damage. To help capture and channel water, Perforated Pipe was installed and connected to a TripleSafe Sump Pump. The TripleSafe is capable of handling the water during heavy rains that would otherwise cause issues and pumps it out of the home through a Buried Discharge Line. The Discharge line takes the water far from the home, and with IceGuard installed, the system is protected from ice buildup during the cold winter months. Now that the home is protected from the outside elements, fully encapsulated, and the floor is stabilized, the homeowner can live in their home, knowing that their family will be safe and healthier.
Newcastle, ME homeowner contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems for a free estimate to install spray foam in their 1850's basement and crawlspace. System Design Specialist Michael M. met with the homeowner to create a plan that would address each space.
In the basement, we poured a slab to upgrade the space from the old dirt floors. Slab WaterGuard was added around the perimeter of the basement to channel water and moisture to the new TripleSafe sump pump. CleanSpace Wall System was installed on the walls, along with SprayFoam Insulation on the rim joists and walls. Completing the space is a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier.
For the crawlspace, we installed CleanSpace with drainage matting, as well as SprayFoam Insulation.
Both spaces are now dry and protected from future water issues!
A Walpole, ME homeowner reached out to TC Hafford Basement Systems for a free estimate after years of dealing with a wet basement. They met with System Design Specialist Jordan T. to review their specific problem and come up with a solution. Jordan could immediately see the standing water that had been seeping into the basement.
We installed WaterGuard around the full perimeter of the basement. WaterGuard collects and channels water to the new TripleSafe Sump Pump System. The TripleSafe features two Zoeller sumps with a battery-powered backup pump that will protect the homeowner from flooding during a storm with a power outage. Water from the TripleSafe is pushed through an Exterior Buried Discharge line that takes the water far away from the home. The waterproofing system is protected against freezing during the winter months with the installation of IceGuard on the Discharge line. Now the homeowner has a dry, usable basement they don't have to fight anymore!
