Crawlspace In Kenduskeag, ME, Waterproofed Properly With CleanSpace
Bill from Kenduskeag needed his crawlspace to be water free, but his current sump system was not removing water like it should have been. He soon made the call to TC Hafford Basement Systems to get his crawlspace waterproofed the right way! We had a representative sent out to the home to look at the problem and give a free estimate. Bill decided on what he wanted done, and we got to work! We started by removing the old sump pump, this wasn’t going to be needed. We then installed a SuperSump sump pump. This new pump would be more than capable of removing any water leaking into the crawlspace. Next we encapsulated the crawlspace with a CleanSpace Liner. This liner completely covers the floor, walls, and supports within the crawlspace. Being sealed against the surfaces it covers, this liner will completely lock out any moisture attempting to find its way into the crawlspace. Finally, on the exterior of the house, where the water from the sump pump travels through a discharge pipe, we concatenated an IceGuard pipe. This piece is uniquely designed to allow for water to continue to flow even if the lower end of the discharge pipe is blocked by ice or other debris. Now this homeowner is happy with his dry crawlspace.
Flooding Basement In Hampden, ME Drained With WaterGuard
A homeowner in Hampden was having trouble with water gathering in their basement. They needed a way to stop the water from leaking in through small pores in the cement. They searched for a way to solve this problem, soon finding TC Basement Systems, who they promptly called to arrange for a free estimate. The homeowner decided on what work they wanted done, and we sent in our crew to get to work! We began by digging a trench around the inside perimeter of the basement floor. Creating a clean trench to lay our WaterGuard system into. This system will capture water entering through the walls or floor. The water is then led to the sump, where we installed a SuperSump sump pump. This pump can handle any amount of water thrown at it, capable of moving 2,650 gallons of water per hour. These two systems combined will be more than enough to keep this homeowner’s basement dry. They now no longer have any need to fear water damage, thanks to WaterGuard.
Snow Melting Leading to a Wet Basement
In Hampden, ME, this homeowner had a problem with their basement. Anytime the snow melted or heavy rain came down, their basement would get wet. Flooding twice last year, this homeowner was ready to take care of their basement troubles and called TC Hafford Basement Systems for a free estimate. Eager to help, System Design Specialist Craig Ziegenbein met with the homeowner and worked with them to design a system that was specific to their needs.   The homeowner wanted to use their basement year-round for storage, so keeping the whole basement dry was important to them. WaterGuard was laid around the perimeter of the basement, with TrenchDrain in high-traffic areas. WaterGuard collects and channels the water to the new TripleSafe Sump Pump, and TrenchDrain ensures all water is collected at the entryways. The TripleSafe Sump Pump is capable of pushing all the water from the WaterGuard out of the basement and through the new Buried Discharge Line. To make sure the system works during the freezing winter months, IceGuard was attached to the Buried Discharge Line to prevent ice buildup. Now the homeowner can use their basement as they please since their basement is fully waterproof and will stay dry all the time.
Hampden Homeowner Happy with Help!
Our Hampden, ME homeowner was happy to have their newly waterproofed basement completed! Their old slab was cracking and water was seeping in. We poured a new slab, installed CleanSpace Wall System to provide a vapor barrier for any moisture trying to get in, along with WaterGuard around the perimeter to channel water to their new sump pump. The TripleSafe sump pump features two Zoeller sumps and a battery-powered backup. The TripleSafe drains water out of the basement and through an Exterior Buried Discharge line that is protected against ice buildup in the winter with IceGuard. The basement looks brand new and most importantly the homeowner now has dry and usable space!
Searsport, ME Basement Receives Much Needed Waterproofing
A homeowner living in Searsport, ME had been experiencing some difficulties keeping water from gathering across their basement floor. They were in need of a system to remove the water from the basement more efficiently than their current sump drain. They soon found us at TC Hafford Basement Systems after a short search online. Once they called us and received their free estimate, they decided to have us waterproof their basement the right way! Once our installation crew arrived at the home they began by installing a SmartSump sump pump in the old sump drain. This pump will take in any water entering the sump, forcing it up and out of the home through a PVC discharge line. Next, a SaniDry CX dehumidifier was installed within the space to clear out any moisture building up in the air. The SaniDry will take in the damp air around itself, passing any collected water on to the sump for removal while circulating the dried air back into the basement. Outside the home, two pipe pieces were attached to the discharge line before our crew was finished. The first was an IceGuard pipe section attached just beyond where the line exits the home. This pipe segment has special angled holes built-in which allow any trapped water to escape before backing up the discharge line. This will protect the home from any ice or debris blockages in the lower-line. Finally, a LawnScape piece was used to cap the end of the line. This will pleasantly blend the line in with the lawn, so that the water can drain away into the ground away from the home. With their newly upgraded sump system, this homeowner will no longer need to worry about manually keeping their basement dry. The SmartSump and SaniDry will take care of any water removal needed.
Void Under Garage Floor Filled With PolyLevel In Bradford, ME,
A homeowner from Bradford had a problem with the slab poured for his garage. This slab was incorrectly installed, and was now shifting and creating a void. The homeowner contacted us and we sent over a representative to give a free estimate. Shortly after, we got to work! Our crew needed to fill the void forming underneath the slab. To accomplish this goal, we used PolyLevel. PolyLevel is a foam spray that will fill an area entirely, then solidify and maintain that form. We injected the PolyLevel, which filled the void, realigned the slab with its original position, and helped support the garage slab from further shifting. Now the void is filled and the homeowner can be confident this problem won’t happen again!
Flooding Basement In Winterport, ME Drained With WaterGuard
A homeowner in Winterport with a flooding basement was seeking a way to stop the water. It would flood during heavy rains, and the water would stick around for a few days after. The homeowner got online to find their answer. They soon found TC Hafford Basement Systems and called us right away. We sent out our representative to inspect the basement and gave the homeowner their free estimate. They gave us the go ahead and our crew got to work! We excavated the interior perimeter of the basement floor to begin with. The debris was then carried out of the basement. We also dug out a sump for the homeowner that the new trench lead to. We then laid down our WaterGuard pipe system in the trench, and covered it with loose rocks and cement to conceal it without hindering functionality. The specially designed pipes will capture any water trying to enter the basement through the walls or floor. Then this water will be guided to the sump we dug out. Within this sump, we installed a TripleSafe sump pump. The TripleSafe contains three pumps to keep the basement dry 24/7. A primary and secondary pump for the bulk of the water, then a battery-backup pump to operate when the power goes out. Finally, we installed a SaniDry XP dehumidifier. This will suck in the moist air surrounding it, dry it out, then push it out into the further reaches of the basement. This cycles more moist air back to the SaniDry, continuing until all of the moisture has been removed from the basement. These systems working together is a sure-fire way to maintain a dry, healthy basement. Never again will this homeowner need to deal with a flooded basement while living in this home.
A Small Crawl Space but Big Troubles
This Winterport, ME, homeowner was looking to save money on their energy bill and have a more energy-efficient home. Their crawlspace wasn’t sealed, which allowed cold air to seep in, leading to higher heating bills. Wanting to take care of the issue and create a more comfortable home, the homeowner scheduled a free estimate with Dr. Energy Saver by TC Hafford Basement Systems. System Design Specialist Nima Farshid met with the homeowner, and they worked together to design a crawl space encapsulation system that would help them achieve a more energy-efficient home.   The space needed to be encapsulated to create an inorganic barrier between the outside elements and the crawl space. Drainage Matting was laid down, which features large, stiff dimples that create a gap. CleanSpace is laid on top of the Drainage Matting and attached to the walls. CleanSpace encapsulates the crawl space, and with the white coating, CleanSpace helps to brighten the area, making it ideal for storage. Finally, SprayFoam was installed around the rim joist and where necessary. Now the homeowner is able to live in a more comfortable home without having to continuously change their thermostat and while saving money on their energy bill.
SaniDry Provides Healthy Air To Islesboro, ME Basement
A homeowner in Islesboro had a basement which they were in the process of finishing. This basement, however, had a moisture problem, which was causing mold growth, and an unpleasant smell. Requiring professional help, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems after hearing about us from a friend. We got them their free estimate, and then we got to work! Within the basement, we installed a SaniDry XP dehumidifier. The SaniDry will take in the air immediately surrounding itself. This air is then dried out and pushed back into the further reaches of the basement. This causes the air in between to be forced towards the SaniDry, creating a cycle until all of the moisture is gone. With this new dehumidifier in place, the environment in which mold thrives had been entirely removed. Eliminating this homeowners problem!
TripleSafe Pump Installation Protects Flooding Islesboro, ME Basement
This property owner with a home in Islesboro, ME had recently discovered the basement in this home to be covered by a puddle of water following a recent storm. This needed to be resolved immediately, so they searched online for a quick solution. Once they found our TC Hafford Basement Systems website, they called our office staff to see about receiving a free estimate on the repairs. We scheduled an appointment for them to speak with our sales representative on the details of the solution and they hired us to get the job done soon after said meeting concluded. When our installation crew arrived at the property, they got started by installing a TripleSafe sump system in the floor of the basement. Now any leaking water will flow into this sump and be removed from the basement through a PVC discharge line. The TripleSafe unit contains three pumps within itself. The first and second pumps both handle the bulk of the water with the secondary only activating if the primary is overwhelmed by the water level. The third and final pump runs off an internal battery. This pump will activate when the home loses power so that the basement remains dry even when the usual pumps cannot function. Outside the home, our crew made two additions to the discharge line before they were finished waterproofing this basement. The first addition was an IceGuard pipe segment intersected into the discharge line just beyond where it leaves the side of the home. The IceGuard has upward angled holes that only allow water blocked by ice or debris to escape the side of the line. This protects the basement against potential backups from outside. Finally, a LawnScape discharge port was used to cap the end of the line. This piece has a grate that covers the opening in the pipe to block any debris that might end up causing a blockage in the line. With these improvements to their home, this property owner no longer has a moisture problem to worry about! The TripleSafe pump will keep this basement floor water-free for years to come!
