Damp Crawlspace In Prospect Harbor, ME Kept Dry With CleanSpace
A homeowner in Prospect Harbor was worried about how damp their crawlspace was getting. This dampness could easily lead to mold growth, and damage to the property. Seeking a way to keep moisture out of their crawlspace, the homeowner looked online. Here is where they found TC Hafford Basement Systems. The homeowner called us right away and we had our representative give her a free estimate. After she decided on what work she wanted done, our crew got to work! In order to keep out moisture before it reached the interior of the crawlspace, we needed to install a vapor barrier. To do so, we lined the floor/wall joint around the space with a Drainage Matting. This will ideally drain away water trying to find its way to the center of the crawlspace. Next, we encapsulated the space with a CleanSpace Liner. CleanSpace is made of a thin plastic, completely locking out moisture that would have previously entered through the walls or the floor. Finally, we installed a SaniDry CX dehumidifier. The SaniDry will dry out the air within the space, and keep it that way. Without moisture in its environment, mold cannot grow. With this new vapor barrier in place, this homeowner no longer needs to worry about mold or water damage at all!
TripleSafe Upgrade Keeps Prospect Harbor, ME Basement Water-Free
A couple living in Prospect Harbor, ME had noticed the sump in their basement of their new home wasn’t keeping up with the water leaking in. This was causing flooding in their basement, which they needed dealt with right away. After searching online, they soon discovered TC Hafford Basement Systems and called us right away to receive their free estimate. They spoke with our representative and soon hired us to get the job done to better waterproof their home. Upon arriving at the home, our installation began work on the home by installing a TripleSafe sump system in the hole existing in the basement floor already. The TripleSafe, as the name suggests, houses three individual pumps. The first and second pumps act to remove the bulk of the water gathering in the basement, with the secondary only activating if the primary pump is ever overwhelmed. The third pump is operated by a battery and will turn on to remove water during a power-outage. The water flows from the home through a PVC discharge line where it will be released onto the ground a distance from the home. Following this discharge line outside, our crew made two final additions to the line to finish this job. The first being an IceGuard pipe segment attached just beyond where the line exits the side of the home. The IceGuard has built-in holes that are angled upward as to not impede regular water flor. These holes protect the home from blockages like ice, allowing any trapped water to escape through the previously mentioned holes. Finally, a LawnScape discharge port was attached to the end of the line to complete the waterproofing. The end of the LawnScape port is covered by a grate to keep any large debris from entering the end of the line and causing blockages. With these improvements in place, the homeowners can now use the space without the need to worry about water damage. The TripleSafe sump system will keep this basement floor water-free for years to come!
Wet Basement in Presque Isle, ME Dried with WaterGuard Installation
With water regularly entering their basement, a homeowner living in Presque Isle, ME was ready to have something done about it. After hearing about of from a friend, they gave our office a call and set up their basement waterproofing! Once they ecided they wanted to have the work done, our installation crew was dispatched. When they got to the home, our crew started work on thsi basement by excavating a shallow trench into the perimeter of the basement. This is where our WaterGuard piping was then laid, surrounding the basement. Where the piping ran beneath a door leading otuside, a TrenchDrain was used. While the WaterGuard is covered over with a fresh layer of concrete, the TrenchDrain is left at the surface, level with the floor with an upward facing grate leading down into the WaterGuard. Now when water leaks in through the floor of the space, it will become trapped within the WaterGuard and guided through the floor to the sump. With the WaterGuard in place, it was time to upgrade the sump drain. We installed a SuperSump sump pump in the floor of the basement, connected to the WaterGuard. Now any water collected by the pipes will be guided driectly to the sump for removal. The SuperSump can remove over 2,600 gallons of water from the basement every hour. Following the discharge line outside, we made two final additions to the system. First was an IceGuard pipe section to prevent any water from backing up and overflowing the sump if a blockage occurs. Second was a LawnScape cap for the end of the line, to pleasantly incorporate the pipe with the lawn. With these improvements to their home, this homeowner sould no longer suffer from a flooding basement! The WaterGuard piping will keep water from gathering on the floor in the future.
Moving Foundation Wall Stopped with PowerBrace
After recently moving into this Corea, ME, home, the homeowner noticed the back wall in their basement developed a crack and started to move. The homeowner purchased this home with the intention of this being their forever home, so they didn’t want to waste time fixing the problem. The homeowner submitted a request for a free estimate online, and System Design Specialist Craig Ziegenbein worked with the homeowner to design a structural system that would stabilize the basement wall. PowerBraces were installed to permanently stabilize the wall and prevent any further movement. With PowerBraces, the bottom bracket is secured to the concrete floor, and the top bracket is anchored to the floor joist. Once installed, the PowerBraces are tightened, which generates positive pressure on the supported wall. Now that the wall is stabilized, the homeowner can enjoy their new home without having to worry about any structural issues causing them problems.

Damp Basement in Houlton, ME, Gets Much Needed Waterproofing
A homeowner in Houlton had a damp basement, which was beginning to become a problem for them. A damp basement is a great place for mold to grow, and a moldy basement could easily become a health concern. This homeowner decided to do something about it once they heard about TC Hafford though a friend who had previously received satisfactory service from us. After our representative, Vera Hafford, took a look, we had a team dispatched to start work on the basement. The basement needed all new concrete to be poured. While pouring the new basement floor, we installed a WaterGuard system around the perimeter of the basement. This system will take any and all water trying to enter the basement, and guide it to a sump. In the case off this Houlton home, that sump is a TripleSafe sump pump. This sump is specially designed with three pumps, to keep the water out should one, or even two of the pumps break, or malfunction. This sump then pumps the water out of the house, through an IceGuard pipe, which will allow water to escape should the pipe become blocked. This project was finished with an extension to the discharge line that the water uses to leave the house. If the discharge line is too short, the water may find its way back into the basement right after being pumped outside.

This will take in the surrounding air, remove the moisture, and the push it out into the further reaches of the basement. This creates a cycle of dry air pushing moist air closer to the SaniDry, which pumps out more dry air. Maintaining a dry atmosphere within the basement, removing any chance for mold to grow. Leaky Basement In Bridgewater, NH Kept Dry With WaterGuard
A couple in Bridgewater had started to notice puddles of water appearing on their concrete basement floor. This water was clearly entering in through the floor and walls of the basement; but the homeowners had no way of preventing this and needed professional help. This is when they contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems. We had a representative look at the basement, give the homeowners a free estimate, then we got to work! We started off by digging up the interior perimeter of the basement, and removing the debris. Laying down WaterGuard pipes all along the inside of this new trench. This WaterGuard will capture all of the water entering in through the concrete walls or floor, guiding it out of the basement through the sump. The WaterGuard is then covered over with loose rocks, which act as a barrier so the cement poured over the top conceals the WaterGuard within the floor, while not diminishing its effectiveness. Now these homeowners are puddle free!
Cracks In Milbridge, ME Basement Sealed With Polyurethane

After the investigation, we were able to identify the problem was two cracks in the wall. We then discussed possible solutions with the homeowner, and got to work! Our crew located the cracks and set up Polyurethane injections. These injections fill each crack with Polyurethane, which flows as a liquid at first, before setting into a firm structure. FlexiSpan Seal Keeps Unwanted Water Out of Milbridge, ME Basement
Living in their home for less than 5 years now, this Milbridge, ME homeowner had noticed water beginning to leak into their basement through a crack in one of the concrete walls. Looking to have this crack repaired as soon as possible, the homeowner took to the internet to find a solution. They soon discovered TC Hafford Basement Systems and called us to set up their free estimate. We sent our sales representative to look at the crack and talk with the homeowner about potential repairs. They decided on what they wanted done and we got to work! When our installation crew arrived at the home, their first task was to brush the area around and within the crack with a coarse brush. This would clear any debris that might hinder the sealant adhering to the wall. Next, the first layer of sealant was applied within the crack. This layer was soon covered over by a foam matting. This foam will give the finished seal flexibility so that it may remain over the crack if the wall were to shift at all. Finally, a second layer of sealant was applied over the foam, creating a FlexiSpan seal covering this crack. The FlexiSpan will ensure no more outside moisture enters this basement through the crack in the wall. With their new seal in place, this homeowner can now be confident during rainfall that their basement will no longer take on water. The FlexiSpan seal will make sure of that!
