Old Sump Burned Out in Saint George, ME
A homeowner in Saint George, ME experienced a basement nightmare after discovering their old sump pump had burned out. Because the pump had failed, water flooded the basement and nearly ruined the owner's furnace. They wanted to update the basement so it would stay dry and protect their home systems. We poured a new slab floor with WaterGuard perimeter drainage system. WaterGuard ties directly into their new TripleSafe sump pump. The TripleSafe offers the owner complete peace of mind, featuring a second back up pump, as well as a battery back up so the system will still operate even if the home loses power.
Leaky Addition In Searsmont, ME Sealed With FlexiSpan
A homeowner in Searsmont had an addition put onto their home. This addition caused leak in the basement of the home, by creating a crack along where the old met the new. This leak was a problem for the homeowner, so they came to TC Hafford Basement Systems to solve their problem. We had a representative take a look, then we got to work! To fix this crack in the joining of the two sides of the house, we used FlexiSpan. Starting this process, we filled the crack with a sealant. This is the first step of FlexiSpan, and acts as a primary barrier against water coming in through the crack. We then laid a foam pad over the top of the crack. This helps the structure of FlexiSpan, allowing it to be flexible, should the crack shift at all. Finally, the foam is covered with a second layer of sealant. This seals the entire piece in place, locking out moisture permanently.
Searsmont, ME Basement Dried & Waterproofed with WaterGuard Piping
A homeowner that lived in Searsmont, ME had been having some problems with moisture leaking into their basement. Unsure how to prevent these leakages on their own, the homeowner needed assistance. After a quick search online, they found TC Hafford Basement Systems and called us to see if we could help. We set them up with a free estimate of what options they had and then got started on the waterproofing once they chose what work they wanted done. When our installation crew arrived at the home, to prevent water from reaching the surface of the concrete floor in the future, a shallow trench was dug into the perimeter. Here, WaterGuard piping was laid, surrounding the basement floor. These pipes, buried beneath a fresh layer of concrete, will capture any moisture leaking towards the basement inerior and guided it through the floor directly to the SuperSump sump pump we installed next. The SuperSump takes the collected water and forces it out of the home through a PVC discharge line. On the exterior of the home, two additions were made to the discharge line before our crew was finished. The first was an IceGuard pipe section attached to line just beyond where it exits the home. The IceGuard has special holes built-in which allow for trapped water to escape. This protects the basement from a backup if ice or other debris forms a blockage in the discharge line. Finally, a LawnScape pipe segment was used to cap the end of the line. This piece has a grate covering the end, allowing the water from the sump to flow out without interference. Now that their basement has received a proper waterproofing, this homeowner will no longer suffer from a flooding basement during heavy rainfall. The WaterGuard piping will keep water from gathering on this basement floor for years to come!
Polyurethane Injection Keeps Unwanted Water from Entering Searsmont, ME Basement
After noticing two cracks that had recently opened on their basement walls, this Searsmont, ME homeowner knew right away they needed to do something about them before the problem got worse. Searching online for a solution, they soon came across our TC Hafford website and called us to set up their own free estimate! After meeting with our sales representative, the homeowner gave us the go ahead to get started as soon as our crew was available. Once the crew arrived at the home, they got started on the cracks by clearing them of debris with a coarse brush. This will allow the sealant to better adhere to the walls surface. An initial layer of sealant was then applied over the top of each crack, with plastic plugs being inserted every few feet. Once dried in place, these plugs were opened. Then starting from the bottom and working their way up, our crew injected Polyurethane through each of the plugs into the cracks, resealing each plug once filled. This will completely seal both of these problem cracks, preventing any moisture from flowing through. With the cracks sealed, that’s two less problems on the mind of this homeowner. The Polyurethane Injections will ensure this basement remains leak-free for years to come!
Musty Basement In Hope, ME Dried Out With SaniDry
A homeowner in Hope noticed their basement was starting to develop a harsh musty smell. This was certainly due to mold growth from moisture in the air. This problem is not only inconvenient because of the smell, but could also pose a serious health risk if left unchecked. After having a contractor refer TC Hafford, the homeowner gave us a call. We soon had a representative out at the home to inspect the basement and suggest the best course of action. Basement In Brooks, ME, Kept Dry With WaterGuard
John from Brooks was in need of a way to keep his basement dry. Water seemed to be coming in from nowhere and this was a problem. One internet search later and John had found TC Hafford Basement Systems. He soon made a phone call to get a free estimate on what could be done to help fix his wet basement problem. After deciding on which solution he wanted, we had out crew get to work on the basement. We dug up the interior perimeter of the basement. This made way for the WaterGuard piping system. This will collect the water coming in from the walls or floor and direct it to the sump. In the sump, we installed a TripleSafe sump pump. This pump utilizes three separate pumps. One primary pump, one secondary pump in case there is too much water for the first to handle, and finally a battery powered backup pump for when the power goes out. This pushes the water up and out of the basement through a PVC discharge line. Now this homeowner has a dry basement thanks to WaterGuard!
Brooks, ME Home Needs Sump Pump

We installed a TripleSafe sump pump, the top of the line pump featuring two Zoeller pumps as well as a battery back up. The TripleSafe pumps water away from the home through a buried exterior discharge line which is protected with IceGuard so it doesn't freeze up in the winter. We were able to help facilitate the repairs in a timely manner for the sale of the home.
Basement In Exeter, ME Waterproofed Properly With WaterGuard
Betsy in Exeter was experiencing problems with water gathering in her basement. This was a problem because this water could lead to mold growth, or even structural damage to the house. Betsy needed a solution, fast! She got online to search for one and found TC Hafford Basement Systems. We were just the answer she needed, so she gave us a call and we got to work! We started work on the basement by digging up the interior perimeter of the basement floor. This allowed us to lay down a WaterGuard pipe system. Which was then covered over with a layer of fresh concrete to conceal it below the floor. This pipe can now collect all the water trying to enter the basement through the walls or the floor. We then installed a SuperSump sump pump. This will take the collected water and push it up and out of the basement through a discharge line. Finally, we attached an UltraSump backup battery to the SuperSump to ensure it will continue to run even if the power to the home should go out. Now Betsy no longer has a water problem in her basement!
