Faulty Sump Pump In Bar Harbor, ME Replaced With SuperSump
A homeowner in Bar Harbor was having trouble with their sump pump. They would regularly have water gather in their basement, even though they had a sump pump that should be keeping the water out. Realizing they had a faulty pump, the homeowner searched for a company to replace it. This is when the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems. They set up a meeting with one of our representatives, and soon received a free estimate. They gave us the green light and we got to work! We began by removing the old sump pump and properly disposing of it. It would serve no further purpose. We then installed a SuperSump sump pump in the slot. This new pump will maintain a dry floor in any amount of rainfall. This pump can handle up to 2,650 gallons of water per hour. The water leaking into the basement will be easily pumped out by this device. Now this homeowner can live for many years without needing to worry about their sump pump failing again thanks to SuperSump!
Wet Crawl Space in Bar Harbor, ME
Moisture has wreaked havoc on this Bar Harbor, ME, crawl space, and the homeowner couldn’t let the issues continue, so they booked a free estimate with TC Hafford Basement Systems. System Design Craig Ziegenbein worked with the homeowner to design a system that would seal their crawl space and keep humidity from causing damage and rotting out the wood. CleanSpace with Drainage Matting was first installed to encapsulate the area and create a barrier between the outside elements and the crawl space. Drainage Matting is a durable, dimpled matting that creates a channel that allows ground water to flow to the sump pump and elevates the CleanSpace to protect it. CleanSpace is an inorganic vapor barrier that gets attached to the walls to seal the crawl space from moisture and small critters. An UltraSump was installed to take the water from the area and pump it away from the home through a new Exterior Buried Discharge line. The Discharge line and the sump system are protected from freezing during the winter with the installation of IceGuard. To finish the encapsulation system, the old and rotting crawl space entrance cover was replaced with a new EverLast Access Panel that keeps air and moisture from coming into the crawl space. Now the homeowner is happy being able to use their crawl space for storage with moisture no longer affecting the health of their home.
Wet Basement In Northeast Harbor, ME Sealed From Water With WaterGuard
A business owner in Northeast Harbor was having trouble with water gathering in their basement, and damaging supplies. This needed to stop as soon as possible, so they looked around for solutions. Soon they heard about TC Hafford Basement Systems from a satisfied previous customer, and gave us a call. We had a representative dispatched to the business to inspect the basement and give a free estimate. Shortly after the business owner decided on what work they wanted done, we began the fix! To allow for the emplacement of our WaterGuard system, we needed to begin by excavating the interior perimeter of the basement floor. Once we got the WaterGuard in place, it was layered over with loose rocks and cement. This allowed the WaterGuard to still function normally while remaining hidden beneath the floor. The WaterGuard will capture water as it enters through the walls or floor and guide it to the sump. In the sump, we installed a SuperSump sump pump. This pump will take the collected water and push it up and out of the basement through a PVC discharge line. On the exterior of the business, we attached an IceGuard filter to the discharge line. This will guarantee water will continue to flow even if the lower end of the pipe becomes blocked by ice or other debris. Now this business owner can conduct business normally without the need to worry about their supplies being damaged by water.
Spray Foam Insulation Protects Northeast Harbor, ME Crawlspace
When this homeowner living in Northeast Harbor, ME needed some work done on the crawlspace below their home. Having used us at TC Hafford Basement Systems before, they knew just who to call. After they spoke with our office staff, we set this homeowner up with a free estimate. Our sales representative soon made their way to the home for the scheduled appointment and explained in detail to the homeowner the different ways we could help them with their problem. They hired us right away to get the job taken care of and we dispatched our crew. As soon as our installation crew arrived at the home, they made their way into the crawlspace to get started. This homeowner was looking to put better insulation between their home and their crawlspace. To achieve this, Spray Foam was spread within the rim joists above the crawlspace. Once sprayed, the foam will expand and fill in the spaces between the home interior and the cool crawlspace below. This will create a barrier that will help the homeowner retain efficiency when heating or cooling their home. With their new insulation below their home, this homeowner should have no problems with losing heat during the winter anymore! The Spray Foam installation will keep this space insulated for many years to come!
Summer Home Plagued by High Moisture
This Northeast Harbor, ME, summer home has had an issue with high moisture in it’s crawl space for the past couple of years. The homeowner was worried about mold coming into the living space, causing costly repairs and creating unhealthy living conditions for the family. The homeowner wanted to get the problem solved as fast as possible, so they booked a free estimate with TC Hafford Basement Systems. The area was first prepped by regrading the ground to create a smooth base. The crawl space needed to be encapsulated to seal up the area and keep moisture out, so CleanSpace with Drainage Matting was installed. Drainage Matting was laid down to create a gap that allows water to be channeled to the sump pump and works to protect the CleanSpace. CleanSpace was installed on top of the Drainage Matting and was attached to the crawl space walls to seal up the area. CleanSpace is a durable vapor barrier that keeps moisture and critters out, reducing mold and creating the perfect space for storage. A Sump Liner was installed so a sump can be added in the future if needed without having to modify the encapsulation system. Finally, a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier was installed, and with the addition of a Condensate Pump, the homeowner never has to go into the basement to empty a bucket and the humidity will be kept at a safe level year-round. The home is now fully protected against moisture, and the homeowner will no longer have to worry about mold-causing issues in their summer home.
Flooding Basement In Sinclair, ME Kept Dry With WaterGuard
Bruce from Sinclair had a basement that would flood every time it rained a lot. This needed to end as soon as possible, because water damage was a serious threat. Searching online for a solution, Bruce soon found TC Hafford Basement Systems. He called us up to set an appointment, and we had our representative head over to the home. We inspected the basement, gave Bruce a free estimate, then we got to work! We began by creating a trench in the floor surrounding the basement. This is where we laid our WaterGuard piping system. WaterGuard pipes are designed to capture water as it enters through the cement, guiding it out through the sump. The WaterGuard is then covered over with loose rocks and cement to conceal it within the floor. Next, we installed a SuperSump sump pump along with an UltraSump backup battery. This combination will keep pumping water out of the basement in the heaviest of rain storms, even if the home is without power. The water is evacuated through a PVC discharge line, which we attached an IceGuard piece to on the exterior of the home. The IceGuard is a special pipe that will allow the water to exit the side of the line in the event of a blockage further down the pipe. Now Bruce should no longer fear water damage in his basement! With these systems in place, flooding is a thing of the past!
Moist Crawlspace In Hancock, ME Sealed Properly With CleanSpace

Seeking professional help with this problem, the homeowner called TC Hafford Basement Systems after seeing us on their television. We gave them their free estimate, then we got to work! To begin work on the crawlspace, we laid a Drainage Matting around the interior perimeter of the crawlspace to hold back water trying to leak in. This water will optimally drain back into the surrounding soil. To completely lock out any of the remaining moisture, the crawlspace was encapsulated with a CleanSpace Liner. Asking around for a solution, a satisfied previous customer told the homeowner about TC Hafford Basement Systems, and how we could help with their issue. They called us soon after and got their free estimate. They decided to get work done and we sent a crew to their home to start the job! We began by installing a SmartDrain in the crawlspace to allow for water to escape through the floor. We then laid down a Drainage Matting around the interior perimeter of the crawlspace to hold back water trying to make its way in and guide it towards the drain. Next, we encapsulated the crawlspace with a CleanSpace Liner. This liner covers the entire crawlspace except for the ceiling, completely locking out moisture, and if any makes its way in, it will be directed to the drain in the floor. Finally, we installed a SaniDry CX dehumidifier. This will guarantee the air remains dry, should any moisture gather in the air in the crawlspace. Now this homeowner has a dry crawlspace, and it will stay that way for years to come!
Damp Basement In Franklin, ME Protected With WaterGuard
A homeowner in Franklin had a concrete basement, which would commonly become damp when it would rain. This was starting to become an issue, so he looked for a solution in the Yellow Pages. This solution was TC Hafford Basement Systems. After receiving the call, we had a representative head to the home to see what could be done. We went over the potential fixes with the homeowner, then got to work! To start, we excavated the interior perimeter of the basement. This would make way for the WaterGuard piping system. Now this homeowner can use the basement for whatever he pleases without the fear of water damage.
Wet Basement In Sullivan, ME Waterproofed Using WaterGuard
A homeowner in Sullivan was having trouble with an extremely wet basement. There seemed to be no way to keep it dry, and they needed help. Soon after they heard about TC Hafford from another satisfied customer, they got in touch. We had a representative head over to the home to inspect the basement, and give a free estimate. Once the homeowner decided on what solution they wanted, we got to work! The first thing that needed to be done was to excavate the interior perimeter of the basement, Once this area was dug up, we installed a WaterGuard pipe system. This is a special kind of pipe that will capture all the water entering in through the walls or up from underneath the basement. This system is then cemented into place with concrete. We then installed a TripleSafe sump pump. The WaterGuard will guide the collected water to this pump, where it will be pushed up and out of the basement. The TripleSafe pump is unique in that it contains three separate pumps. One primary pump, a backup pump in case there is too much water for the first, and a final, battery operated pump to keep the basement dry should the power go out. The water is pumped through PVC up and out of the basement, and once outside, travels through an IceGuard filter we attached. The IceGuard will allow for the water to continue to exit the basement; even if the lower end of the discharge line is blocked by ice or debris. Finally, we installed a SaniDry XP Dehumidifier. This is to maintain a dry atmosphere within the basement should any moisture still find its way into the basement air. Now moisture is the last thing this homeowner needs to be worried about.
