North Haven, ME Basement Kept Dry with Installation of WaterGuard Piping
With a concrete foundation below their home, this North Haven, ME homeowner never thought they would have water entering through the floor itself and building up in their basement. Unsure how to stop the leakage, they took to the internet to find a solution. As soon as they found our website for TC Hafford Basement Systems, they knew they found the company for the job. They called us to set up their free estimate and we got to work!
When our installation crew arrived at the property, they got started on preparing the floor for waterproofing by excavating a shallow trench into the perimeter of the floor. This allowed for WaterGuard piping to be buried below a fresh layer of concreter, completely encircling the basement floor. These pipes have slits along their bottom edges, trapping leaking moisture within the WaterGuard piping. This water is then guided through the floor to the sump to be removed from the basement without reaching the surface of the floor in the future.
Within the sump in this basement floor, a TripleSafe sump system was installed. This device contains three pumps, each activating at different times to keep this basement water-free. The first and second pumps will handle the bulk of the water-removal, with the secondary pump only activating if the primary requires assistance. The third pump is a battery-operated backup pump for when the home loses power. This will keep the basement dry even during rough storms. All of the water is removed through a PVC discharge line where it flows away from the home a distance before being released onto the ground.
Now that this homeowner has a waterproofed basement, they can make use of the space as they intended to without needing to worry about water damage. The WaterGuard piping and TripleSafe sump system will make sure of that.
SmartJack Installation Supports Sinking North Haven, ME Crawlspace
Having lived in North Haven, ME for a few years, this homeowner recently did some work in their crawlspace and they noticed the ceiling of the space had begun to sink down lower than it should. Looking to have this resolved before it became a major problem, the homeowner quickly searched online and discovered our TC Hafford Basement Systems website. They called us soon after to receive their free estimate. The homeowner then hired us to get the job done once the estimate concluded.
As soon as our installation crew arrived at the home, they were able to get to work right away on the bowing crawlspace ceiling. To begin, engineered fill was used as a base for the footings of the new supports to be placed on. This will provide a sturdy hold for the supports against the dirt below. Next, the SmartJack support pylons were placed on each of the installed footholds. These SmartJack supports can be adjusted to extend or retract the plate that presses against the joists above the crawlspace. Once the ceiling was fully supported by these new pylons, the old, failing supports were removed from the space.
Now that this crawlspace has received some new supports, this homeowner can rest assured their home will not suffer from any more sinking or potential cracking. The SmartJack supports will hold this home firmly in place for years into the future!

The TripleSafe is protected from pump failure by featuring two Zoeller pumps, and also has a battery back up to avoid any issues in the event of power loss. Crawlspace In Vinalhaven, ME Waterproofed With CleanSpace
A homeowner in Vinalhaven was looking to finish their basement. But before they started that, they wanted to make sure their crawlspace would no longer get water during rain. After the homeowner heard about TC Hafford from a friend, he gave us a call and we got to work!
In order to waterproof the crawlspace in the home, we had to put down a Drainage Matting around the inside perimeter of the crawlspace. This would prevent water coming in from making its way toward the center of the crawlspace, while giving it time to drain back out of the crawlspace. We then lined the inside of the crawlspace with a CleanSpace Liner. This completely seals the crawlspace off from incoming moisture, guaranteeing a dry crawlspace for the homeowner. Now he can finish his basement without fear of water damage!
Veazie, ME homeowners reached out to TC Hafford Basement Systems for support with their very wet basement. They had an old sump pump that was not working properly and failing to keep up with the incoming water. We installed a brand new TripleSafe sump pump system, the top of the line pump for basements. The TripleSafe features two Zoeller pumps to protect against pump failure, as well as a battery back up so the pump keeps working even if the home loses power in a storm. Our homeowners in Veazie can now rest easy!
Wet basement in Bangor, ME Protected By WaterGuard
A homeowner in Bangor was having trouble with water leaking into their basement, through the walls and the floor. This water is pressed in by what is called hydrostatic pressure. This allows the water to slowly pass through even concrete during heavy rains. The homeowner needed a way to keep the water out, and after hearing about TC Hafford Basement Systems from a previously satisfied customer, they gave us a call. We had a representative head over to the home to inspect the basement, and give the homeowner a free estimate. They decided on what work they wanted done, and we got to work!
Our crew began by digging up the interior perimeter of the basement floor. This gave us a trench to bury our WaterGuard pipe system in. The WaterGuard, after being laid in the trench, was buried with loose rocks and cement. This hides the pipes without hurting functionality. This special pipe system will capture water as it enters the basement, guiding it out of the basement through the sump. Not allowing water time to leak onto the basement floor. Now this homeowner is without worry when it comes to a moist basement. The WaterGuard will ensure a dry basement floor for many years to come.
