Waterproofing Aurora, ME Basement
Aurora, ME homeowners contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems for help with their wet basement. We installed a SuperSump Plus system, which helps remove any water away from the home through an exterior buried discharge line. The discharge line is protected with IceGuard so it doesn't freeze up in the winter causing a pump failure. The end of the discharge line is protected with LawnScape so the line doesn't clog, as well as prevents yard erosion. The owners can now enjoy a dry, usable basement!
Leaking Basement In Aurora, ME Waterproofed
Bruce from Aurora had two cracks in his basement wall, which would leak water into the basement on a regular basis. Bruce needed this to stop, because the water coming in could lead to water damage; or even worse mold growth. Soon after seeing an ad for TC Hafford Basement Systems on his television, Bruce gave us a call and received his free estimate. We had our crew head over to the home and got to work! We started by digging up a trench around the inside perimeter of the basement floor. This made way for us to lay down a WaterGuard pipe system. This is then covered over with loose rocks and concrete to conceal it within the floor while not hindering functionality. The WaterGuard system captures water as it enters the basement through the walls or floor. Next, we started fixing the cracks with FlexiSpan. We applied the first layer of sealant directly to the cracks, this is the primary barrier against moisture entering the cracks. The sealant is then covered with a foam matting. This gives the FlexiSpan its flexible nature. Finally, a second layer of sealant is added over the foam to hold it all in place, locking any moisture completely outside the crack. Now Bruce can live without fear of water damage in his basement!
SuperSump Installation Protects Aurora, ME Basement from Gathering Water
Having been living with a damp basement for some time, this Aurora, ME homeowner thought it was time they did something about the water below their home. Needing the space for storage and wanting to avoid water damage, the homeowner needed a way to remove the leaking water that typically gathered on their floor of the basement during rainfall. After a quick search online, they discovered TC Hafford Basement Systems and called us to receive their free quote. Our sales representative soon sat down with the homeowner to talk over their options and they gave us the go ahead to begin work on their home. As soon as our crew arrived at the home, their first task was to install a SuperSump pump system in the floor of the basement. This device will take in the water flooding the space, forcing it up and out of the home at a rater of over 2,600 gallons per hour. The water flows away from the home through a PVC discharge line. Outside the home, two additions were attached to this line to improve the waterproofing of the basement. The first was an IceGuard pipe segment added just beyond where the line leaves the home. This piece has upward facing holes built into the sides that allow for water blocked by ice or debris to escape without backing up into the home. Finally, the end of the line received a LawnScape discharge port. The end of this piece is covered by a grate that will release the water onto the ground to harmlessly drain away while keeping out larger debris. With their newly installed sump, this homeowner will no longer suffer from a regularly flooding basement. The SuperSump system along with specialty piping will keep this basement water-free for years to come!
CleanSpace Saves Mount Desert, ME Crawlspace From Mold Growth
A homeowner in Mount Desert had been having trouble with mold growing within his crawlspace. This mold was beginning to cause a smell to form in the space that was spreading through the basement, and up into the home. The homeowner, seeking a way to eliminate moisture build up in the crawlspace, searched online to find a solution. After finding TC Hafford Basement Systems, the homeowner contacted us for a free estimate. We then sent out our crew and got to work! We began by laying a Drainage Matting around the wall/floor joint of the crawlspace. This mat will hold back water attempting to find its way to the center of the space. The water held by the mat will be given more time to ideally drain back into the surrounding soil. Next, we encapsulated the space with a CleanSpace liner. This liner will lock out any and all water trying to enter the crawlspace. Finally, we installed a SaniDry XP dehumidifier. This will maintain a dry atmosphere within the crawlspace, eliminating the mold by removing its habitat. This homeowner now has a dry basement and systems in place to keep it that way!
Mount Desert, ME Basement Kept Dry with FlexiSpan Seal Placement
With a crack along one of their basement walls, a homeowner living in Mount Desert, ME was beginning to experience some water troubles. Without a way to seal the crack, this homeowner had no way to stop outside water from leaking onto their basement floor. They soon saw an ad for TC Hafford on their TV and called us to receive a free estimate. After hearing their options, they decided to have us get the job done right away. Once our installation crew arrived on the scene, they started work on this crack by brushing it clear of debris with a coarse brush. Then the first layer of sealant was applied within and around the crack. A foam mat was then place along the length of the crack, covering the first layer of sealant. Finally, a seconad layer of sealant was applied over the top of the foam, completing what is known as a FlexiSpan seal. As the name suggests, the FlexiSpan can adjust to slight changes in the shape of the crack thanks to the foam core. This will now keep out any future leaks that would have otherwise ended up across this basement floor. Now that the crack below their home has been sealed successfully, this homeowner now has peace of mind during any rainfall. The FlexiSpan seal will keep water out of this basement for many years to come!
SaniDry Sedona Installation Protects Mount Desert, ME Basement from Damp Conditions
After recently having a vapor barrier installed below their home, this Mount Desert, ME homeowner wanted additional humidity control for their crawlspace. Having done business with us before, they called our office to set up a time for their free estimate on this project. After speaking with our sales representative, the homeowner gave us the green light to begin work! As soon as our installation crew arrived at the home, they were able to go straight to the crawlspace and begin work. To eliminate any moisture build-up in the atmosphere within the crawlspace, a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was placed in the space. This device will pull in the damp air surrounding itself and separate the moisture from it. The dried air is then circulated back into the crawlspace where it will cycle more damp air back to the SaniDry, continuing the process until the space is free of moisture. The water that is separated from the air flows through a Condensate Pump, that forces the water out of the home through a discharge line. Now with both a vapor barrier and a dehumidifier below their home, this homeowner should have no moisture problems develop in the future. The SaniDry Sedona will ensure the air below this home remains dry & healthy for years to come!

Spray Foam Installation keeps Mattawamkeag, ME Crawlspace Insulated
A homeowner that lived in Mattawamkeag, ME was looking for a way to better insulate their home after the recent winter. Searching online for a solution, they soon discovered TC Hafford Basement Systems and called us asking about a free estimate. After hearing their options from our sales representative, they hired us to take care of their problem. Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they were able to get started increasing the insulation beneath this home to help keep the heating and cooling inside the home efficient. To achieve this, our crew began in the crawlspace by filling in gaps between the rim-joists with a Spray Foam insulator. Next, Spray Foam was used to cover the interior walls of the crawlspace. This foam expands soon after it covers each surface, filling in more space and reaching inside small cracks. The foam forms a barrier against possible passages for air, or ways for the outside temperature to affect inside of this home. With their newly insulated crawlspace, this homeowner doesn’t need to worry about the winter cold entering their home so easily. The Spray Foam layers will help keep the heat in and the cold out for years to come.
Leaking Basement In Bernard, ME Protected By WaterGuard
Cathy from Bernard was having trouble with water leaking into her basement through the corners. The water would be pushed in during heavy rains by what is known as hydrostatic pressure. Seeking a way to prevent the water build up, Cathy called TC Hafford Basement Systems. We were just the company she needed to get this job done! We began by digging out a trench encircling the basement floor. This is where we laid our WaterGuard piping system. This system will capture water as it enters the basement through the cement, and guide it to the sump. The WaterGuard is then covered with loose rocks and cement to hide it without stopping its function. We then installed a SmartSump sump pump, with an UltraSump backup battery attached. This will remove all the water collected by the WaterGuard, and remove it through a PVC discharge line. Even should the power go out in the home, the UltraSump will keep the pump pumping in any weather! Finally, we attached an IceGuard pipe piece to the discharge line on the exterior of the home. This will allow water to continue to flow even if the lower end of the pipe becomes blocked by ice or other debris. With these systems in place, Cathy will never need to worry about a leaking basement again!

The homeowner decided on what they wanted done and we got to work! We removed the old pump, and installed a TripleSafe sump pump. This sump has three separate pumps. One primary pump, one secondary pump in case the first stops working for any reason, and a battery powered third pump in case the power goes out. Finally, on the exterior of the home, we installed an IceGuard pipe. This section of PVC attaches to the discharge line and allows for water to continue to be pumped out of the basement even if the lower end of the pipe is blocked by ice or other debris.
