SaniDry Sedona Installation Protects Mount Desert, ME Basement from Damp Conditions
After recently having a vapor barrier installed below their home, this Mount Desert, ME homeowner wanted additional humidity control for their crawlspace. Having done business with us before, they called our office to set up a time for their free estimate on this project. After speaking with our sales representative, the homeowner gave us the green light to begin work!
As soon as our installation crew arrived at the home, they were able to go straight to the crawlspace and begin work. To eliminate any moisture build-up in the atmosphere within the crawlspace, a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was placed in the space. This device will pull in the damp air surrounding itself and separate the moisture from it. The dried air is then circulated back into the crawlspace where it will cycle more damp air back to the SaniDry, continuing the process until the space is free of moisture. The water that is separated from the air flows through a Condensate Pump, that forces the water out of the home through a discharge line.
Now with both a vapor barrier and a dehumidifier below their home, this homeowner should have no moisture problems develop in the future. The SaniDry Sedona will ensure the air below this home remains dry & healthy for years to come!

Leaking Basement In Bernard, ME Protected By WaterGuard
Cathy from Bernard was having trouble with water leaking into her basement through the corners. The water would be pushed in during heavy rains by what is known as hydrostatic pressure. Seeking a way to prevent the water build up, Cathy called TC Hafford Basement Systems. We were just the company she needed to get this job done!
We began by digging out a trench encircling the basement floor. This is where we laid our WaterGuard piping system. This system will capture water as it enters the basement through the cement, and guide it to the sump. The WaterGuard is then covered with loose rocks and cement to hide it without stopping its function. We then installed a SmartSump sump pump, with an UltraSump backup battery attached. This will remove all the water collected by the WaterGuard, and remove it through a PVC discharge line. Even should the power go out in the home, the UltraSump will keep the pump pumping in any weather! Finally, we attached an IceGuard pipe piece to the discharge line on the exterior of the home. This will allow water to continue to flow even if the lower end of the pipe becomes blocked by ice or other debris.
With these systems in place, Cathy will never need to worry about a leaking basement again!

Damp Crawlspace In Southwest Harbor, ME Sealed With CleanSpace
A homeowner in Southwest Harbor owned a home with a damp crawlspace. The space would usually take on water during rain, and then the water would persist within the space for several days afterword. This created a very moist atmosphere, the perfect environment for mold growth. Asking around for potential solutions, the homeowner was quickly referred to TC Hafford Basement Systems. They called us right away and we were on the job!
To begin, we laid a Drainage Matting along the wall/floor joint surrounding the crawlspace. This mat will hold back some of the moisture entering through the soil, giving it time to drain back out. We then encapsulated the crawlspace with a CleanSpace Liner. CleanSpace is a thin plastic sheet that covers the floor, and all of the walls within the crawlspace to lock out any water that would have otherwise leaked in.
With these two barriers in place, moisture will no longer be able to access this crawlspace; Protecting this homeowner from any problems involving mold, or water damage.
