This Cherryfield, ME, home was at risk of it’s foundation totally failing which could ruin the home and make it unsafe to live in. The homeowner couldn’t wait long for a solution so they called TC Hafford Basement Systems for a free estimate. System Design Specialist Stacy Hafford worked with the homeowner to design a StableLock Wall System that would protect their home and prevent the foundation from collapsing. StabeLock Wall System uses modern concrete forming and shoring techniques to fill the voids of the existing wall and stabilizing it to leave a smooth wall. Traditionally, a failing foundation would be repaired but lifting the home and a new foundation being poured. The homeowner would have to move out for a period of time and the costs can be astronomical. With StableLock, the homeowner never has to leave the home and they can save money all while getting the benefit of a new foundation wall. Now that StableLock has been installed, the homeowner and their family can live in their home without being concerned that their safety is at risk.

System Design Specialist Mark S. helped homeowners in Van Buren, Maine who had issues with their basement leaking. Their basement was partially finished, and they wanted to be sure water did not damage the finished space. We installed WaterGuard perimeter drainage system, and a TripleSafe sump pump, the top of the line sump that can handle over 6,000 gallons of water per hour as needed. WaterGuard collects groundwater and channels it to the TripleSafe to pump it away from the home, working seamlessly together.

A homeowner in Houlton had a damp basement, which was beginning to become a problem for them. A damp basement is a great place for mold to grow, and a moldy basement could easily become a health concern. This homeowner decided to do something about it once they heard about TC Hafford though a friend who had previously received satisfactory service from us. After our representative, Vera Hafford, took a look, we had a team dispatched to start work on the basement. The basement needed all new concrete to be poured. While pouring the new basement floor, we installed a WaterGuard system around the perimeter of the basement. This system will take any and all water trying to enter the basement, and guide it to a sump. In the case off this Houlton home, that sump is a TripleSafe sump pump. This sump is specially designed with three pumps, to keep the water out should one, or even two of the pumps break, or malfunction. This sump then pumps the water out of the house, through an IceGuard pipe, which will allow water to escape should the pipe become blocked. This project was finished with an extension to the discharge line that the water uses to leave the house. If the discharge line is too short, the water may find its way back into the basement right after being pumped outside.

Houlton, ME homeowners were experiencing sagging floors and wanted to know how to keep their home level and safe. They contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems for a free estimate on repairs. We installed SmartJacks to immediately lift and provide support to the sagging beam, leveling their floors above and keeping the home structurally safe. 

Adam from Steuben, ME was in need of a solution for the moist air in his basement. This moisture could lead to mold growth or structure damage, and this homeowner needed something done about it! He got in touch with TC Hafford Basement Systems to get the job done. We had a representative head out to the house shortly after to take a look and give a free estimate. The homeowner decided on what work they wanted done, and we got started. To keep the moisture level down in the basement we installed a SaniDry XP. This will take in the surrounding air, remove the moisture, and the push it out into the further reaches of the basement. This creates a cycle of dry air pushing moist air closer to the SaniDry, which pumps out more dry air. Maintaining a dry atmosphere within the basement, removing any chance for mold to grow. Now Adam is worry free with a dry basement!

A couple in Bridgewater had started to notice puddles of water appearing on their concrete basement floor. This water was clearly entering in through the floor and walls of the basement; but the homeowners had no way of preventing this and needed professional help. This is when they contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems. We had a representative look at the basement, give the homeowners a free estimate, then we got to work! We started off by digging up the interior perimeter of the basement, and removing the debris. Laying down WaterGuard pipes all along the inside of this new trench. This WaterGuard will capture all of the water entering in through the concrete walls or floor, guiding it out of the basement through the sump. The WaterGuard is then covered over with loose rocks, which act as a barrier so the cement poured over the top conceals the WaterGuard within the floor, while not diminishing its effectiveness. Now these homeowners are puddle free!

System Design Specialist Stacy H. met with homeowners in Bridgewater, Maine to evaluate their basement. The homeowners experienced occasional water intrusion, but were more concerned with addressing the high humidity in the space to avoid mildew and mold issues. Stacy recommended installing a SaniDry Sedona high efficiency air system. The SaniDry Sedona removes over 100 pints of water from the air per day, and also features a MERV 8 filter that removes allergens like mold spores, keeping the indoor air quality healthy.

Homeowners contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems for help with their cracked and leaking basement wall. System Design Specialist Craig Z. evaluated the issue and found the wall had structural concerns. We installed StableLock Wall, a foundation repair solution that doesn't require the expensive and intrusive lifting of the home. A new concrete wall is poured in front of the failing wall to secure the home and prevent any further bowing or shifting. The homeowners now have peace of mind that their house is safe and dry.

Danforth, ME homeowners contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems for help with their damp and leaking basement. We poured a new slab floor with drainage matting, and slab WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement. WaterGuard channels water to the brand new SuperSump Plus system. The SuperSump Plus pumps the water through an Exterior Buried Discharge line that takes it far from the home. The Discharge line is protected against ice buildup during the winter months with the installation of IceGuard. The basement had a failing wall by the bulkhead where water was coming in, so we also installed PowerBraces to stabilize and straighten the failing wall. PowerBraces require no excavation and are a cost effective solution for foundation repair.

We provided a free estimate to homeowners in Blaine, Maine who had concerns over their foundation walls. One wall had a long vertical crack that was letting water in, and other walls were made of old field stones that were shifting.
