Property owners in Berwick, Maine contacted us for help with their sagging floors. The crawl space had dirt floors allowing moisture to seep in, keeping the space damp. Moisture will weaken the wooden support beams over time, causing sagging of the floors above. We installed SmartJacks to support the home and level the floors. SmartJacks are custom fit steel beams that can be adjusted to provide lift. They are made of a galvanized steel so they will not rust over time, making them a great option for crawl spaces!

Homeowners in Greenland, NH had a strong odor coming from their crawl space, but they could not find any water or source of the odor. We encapsulated the crawl space to ensure no moisture was getting in, by first installing drainage matting and then a CleanSpace vapor barrier liner on top. Sealing out the moisture not only helps prevent odors, but also protects the structure of the home from mold and wood rot. Not pictured here, we also installed a SaniDry Sedona high efficiency air system. The SaniDry controls humidity to a healthy level, keeping the crawl space dry, and also has a MERV 8 filter that removes odor causing allergens.

A Bridgton, ME homeowner has lived in their home for over 40 years and noticed signs that their crawl space needed some help. System Design Specialist Sam Crowley met with the homeowner to address the issues in the crawl space. The homeowner also wanted to address the issue of cold floors in the winter and groundwater seeping into the crawl space. A system was designed specifically for this crawl space, and Foreman Joshua and his crew installed it. They started by regrading the dirt floor to ensure a level ground, then laid CleanSpace with Drainage Matting. Power Braces were installed to stabilize the walls, and spray foam was used to help encapsulate the crawl space, keeping outside elements outside. Finally, a Smart Sump was installed and connected to an exterior Discharge Line that was buried so it would be out of sight and could carry any water far from the home, where it would no longer pose an issue.
