We helped waterproof this wet basement in Saco, Maine with the installation of a couple of products that work seamlessly together to keep the basement dry. First, we jackhammered a hole for the new TripleSafe sump pump system, which can handle removing over 6,000 gallons of water per hour. The TripleSafe has two Zoeller pumps, and is protected with a third battery backup pump for when the power goes out. We also installed a new SaniDry Sedona high efficiency air system to control the humidity, removing over 100 pints of water from the air each day.
New homeowners in Saco, Maine had concerns about water coming in at the sill of the home, and they didn't want it to turn into mold. We installed Spray Foam insulation on the walls and rim joists of the crawl space. Not only does Spray Foam help improve the energy efficiency of the home, but it is also water resistant, so it acts as a vapor barrier. Spray Foam expands as it is applied, so it can easily fill all gaps and voids, creating an air and moisture tight seal along the sill.
The son of Saco, ME homeowners reached out to TC Hafford Basement Systems after moving his parents' water tank and realizing they had a leak from a cracked basement wall. They met with System Design Specialist Peter F. to address their needed repairs.
Foreman Noah F. and installer Joe M. worked to place WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement, and connected it to a new TripleSafe Sump Pump. WaterGuard captures and channels water to the TripleSafe, which features two Zoeller sumps and a battery-powered backup. The TripleSafe drains water out of the basement and through an Exterior Buried Discharge line that is protected against ice buildup with IceGuard. CleanSpace Wall System was installed to act as a vapor barrier where needed and channel any additional moisture from the cracked walls to the WaterGuard. Now our homeowners and their son can relax knowing the basement is protected!
Saco, ME homeowners reached out to TC Hafford Basement Systems for a free estimate on encapsulating their crawl space. They were tired of dealing with a cold, dusty space they felt they couldn't use. System Design Specialist Peter F. created a plan to insulate and encapsulate the space. To fully encapsulate the crawl space and keep moisture and critters out, CleanSpace with Drainage Matting was installed. Drainage Matting is a durable barrier with dimples to help channel water and elevate the CleanSpace, keeping it clean. CleanSpace is a durable, inorganic vapor barrier that gets attached to the walls and seals up the crawl space, keeping moisture out. Foamax wall insulation panels were also installed to act as a moisture barrier, as well as insulate the space. The homeowners can now store their belongings without everything getting dusty, and save money on their energy bills at the same time!
Saco, ME homeowners hadn't been down into their crawl space for years when they realized it was failing. It had dirt floors and moisture coming in, ruining their old fiberglass insulation. We cleaned out the debris from the old insulation and encapsulated the space with our two-step process. First a layer of drainage matting is added to channel ground water underneath the CleanSpace liner. CleanSpace is a vapor barrier that seals out water, and prevents mold growth. A SmartSump pump with UltraSump batter back up was installed to pump water away from the home. Lastly, SprayFoam insulation was installed on the walls and rim joists to create an air tight seal. SprayFoam will immediately provide energy savings, and gets into the nooks and crannies better than their old fiberglass insulation. The homeowners no longer have to worry about what water damage may be happening in their crawl space.
