Crawlspace Encapsulation in Trevett, ME

A homeowner in Trevett had seen our ads on a local TV station and decided it was time to take care of their wet crawlspace. The homeowner reached out to TC Hafford Basement Systems for a free estimate. One of our System Design Specialists met with the homeowner to review their concerns and come up with a plan to prevent future issues.

CleanSpace with Drainage Matting was installed across the entire crawlspace. Drainage Matting is laid down first to elevate the CleanSpace and with its dimpled design, Drainage Matting helps to channel any groundwater to a sump. CleanSpace was installed and attached to the crawl space walls to encapsulate the area. CleanSpace is an inorganic and durable vapor barrier that keeps moisture and small critters out while turning the crawlspace into a perfect area for storage. We also installed a SuperSump Plus which pumps water out of the basement through an Exterior Buried Discharge line and takes the water far away from the home. The whole system is protected against ice buildup during winter with the installation of IceGuard on the Discharge line. This ensures that the system will always run, preventing flooding when snow melts. To finish out the waterproofing system, a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier was installed to keep the humidity in the crawlspace at a safe level, preventing musty smells and mold growth. Now the homeowner is happy that they have a dry, usable space!

Transforming a Dirt Crawl Space in Southport, ME

Before our team arrived, the homeowner in Southport, Maine, faced the challenge of a damp, dirt-floor crawl space. The space was prone to moisture issues, which could lead to problems like mold, poor air quality, and structural damage if left unaddressed. They knew it was time to take action. After assessing the situation, TC Hafford Basement Systems recommended installing the CleanSpace liner, drainage matting, and a SmartDrain. This system would effectively block moisture from entering while allowing any water to drain out safely.

The transformation was remarkable. What was once a vulnerable, exposed dirt crawl space is now fully encapsulated and protected from moisture. The homeowner was thrilled to have a dry, secure area under their home that will protect their property for years to come.

Damp Crawl Space Causing Problems in Southport, ME

This Southport, ME, crawl space was open to the elements and stayed damp, causing issues and leading to problems such as mold. The homeowner needed help, so they called TC Hafford Basement Systems for a free estimate, and System Design Specialist Kathryn Dolan met with the homeowner. Together, Kathryn and the homeowner designed a crawl space encapsulation system that would protect the home and prevent water from being an issue in the future.

Ground water was an issue for this crawl space, so a TripleCrawl Sump Pump system was installed to handle the water and pump it out of the home through the new Exterior Buried Discharge line. The Discharge line takes the water far away from the home and is protected against ice buildup with IceGuard. Mold has been an issue, so taking care of the moisture problem in the crawl space was the next step. CleanSpace with Drainage Matting was installed to encapsulate the area and keep moisture out. Drainage Matting is constructed with a dimpled design that channels water to the TripleCrawl and elevates the CleanSpace to keep it clean and protect it. CleanSpace is a durable, inorganic vapor barrier that was attached to the walls, sealing the area and brightening the space, making it perfect for storage. SmartDrain and Perforated Pipe were installed to channel water to the TripleCrawl Sump Pump. To finish encapsulating the crawl space and protect the home, SprayFoam was installed to insulate the area, and a SaniDry Sedona was installed to keep the humidity at a safe level. The SaniDry Sedona is connected to a Condensate Pump and drains to the TripleCrawl so the homeowner never has to be worried about emptying a bucket of water, and the system will continue to run without needing to be supervised or checked up on.

The homeowner is now able to regain control over their home and can live in the space without the concern of the mold or moisture effecting the health of their family.

Southport, ME Crawlspace Encapsulated with CleanSpace

We installed CleanSpace with drainage matting. Drainage Matting is a durable barrier with dimples to help channel water and elevate the CleanSpace, keeping it clean. CleanSpace is a durable, inorganic vapor barrier that gets attached to the walls and seals up the crawl space, keeping moisture out. A SuperSump pump system was also installed, with an exterior buried discharge line to remove any water away from the home. The discharge line is protected with IceGuard from freezing up in the winter. Lastly, a SaniDry Sedona air purification system was added to keep the air healthy from dust and mold spores, as well as control the moisture in the space.

The Troubles of No Gutters and How Gutter Shutter Helps

Without gutters, a home can experience a variety of issues, such as soil erosion, damage to the landscape, pest infestation, and higher maintenance costs. Water can pool around the foundation of a home, which can lead to structural issues and damage to a home. Too much water around the fascia board can result in rotting over time, giving small critters access points in a home’s attic. Landscaping can also be ruined from oversaturation, and soil erosion can lead to damaged roots, killing flowers, bushes, and any other vegetation that would be around a home. This homeowner in Harmony, ME, wanted to avoid these issues, so they booked a free estimate with Gutter Shutter by TC Hafford Basement Systems.

System Design Specialist Josh Hamel met with the homeowner and worked with them to design a Gutter Shutter system that would fit the needs and aesthetics of their home. Gutter Shutter comes in multiple colors, allowing the homeowner to pick an option that matches with their home to prevent the gutter from sticking out. Gutter Shutter offers a larger, six-inch aluminum gutter that is formed and cut to length on site, resulting in a seamless construction. This means that Gutter Shutter is able to be constructed to fit a space on a home as short or as long as needed. The integrated shutter allows water to flow into the gutter but keeps leaves, critters, and other debris out, creating a clog-free design. With Gutter Shutter, a homeowner no longer needs to climb a ladder to clear a clog, and with the tough design, Gutter Shutter is strong enough to handle the harsh Maine winters. Ice buildup is a major concern in the winter months, as icicles can be dangerous and the additional weight could be harmful to the home. Gutter Shutter is able to handle thawing snow better, preventing ice from building up. Now that the homeowner is protected with Gutter Shutter, they are able to keep their home healthier, and any landscaping that they decide to do won't be wasted because of water running off of their roof.
