A Freeport, ME homeowner was tired of battling water leaking into their basement and causing issues. They reached out to TC Hafford Basement Systems for help. System Design Specialist Mike M. met with the homeowner to give a free estimate on the needed repairs. They came up with a plan to keep the basement dry and usable all the time.
WaterGuard was installed around the perimeter and connected to a new SuperSump Plus pump. WaterGuard captures and channels water to the SuperSump, which then drains water out of the basement and through an Exterior Buried Discharge line that is protected against ice buildup with IceGuard. CleanSpace Wall System was installed to act as a vapor barrier where needed and channel any additional moisture from the walls to the WaterGuard. Finishing out the full waterproofing system was the installation of a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. The SaniDry Sedona drains directly to the SuperSump, which allows the basement to be kept at a safe humidity level all of the time without the homeowner having to empty a bucket of water to keep it running.
Our Freeport homeowner is now free from basement headaches! They can enjoy using their space and keeping their belongings dry.
A Freeport, ME homeowner contacted TC Hafford Basement Systems for a free estimate to insulate their basement. They also wanted to learn what energy rebates were available. System Design Specialist Louis D. created a plan to keep their space protected. We installed Foamax basement wall insulation which has a foil vapor barrier on the back to protect against moisture and humidity. Foamax also helps insulate the space so the warmer air in the basement isn't escaping through the walls. The white foil on the front of the Foamax gives a nice clean finished look.
When one of the walls in their basement began to bow and crack, this Fayette, ME homeowner called us at TC Hafford Basement Systems to solve the problem before it got worse! We set them up with a free estimate where our sales representative was able to explain to the homeowner, in detail, just how we could seal these cracks and prevent more cracks from forming in the future. Once our installation crew arrived at the home, they got started on sealing the cracks right away. To install FlexiSpan seals over each crack, a primary layer of sealant was first applied within the cracks. A thin foam pad was laid along the cracks over the first layer of sealant. To finish the seal, a second layer of sealant was applied over the top of the foam core, creating FlexiSpan seals covering each crack. These seals benefit from the foam core by being able to contort to any slight changes in the wall, maintaining their water-tight seal. Next, to prevent future bowing of the wall, PowerBrace beams were attached to the floor and spaced out along the problem-wall. These beams were then tightened against the wall using their adjustable fixtures anchored to the joists above the basement.
With the cracks sealed and their wall locked back to its original position, this homeowner will no longer need to worry about any moisture or structural problems developing in their basement. The FlexiSpan seals & PowerBrace supports will protect this basement for years into the future!
The homeowner was concerned by the consistent build-up of water around their furnace and other areas of their basement. They wished to have a dry basement all the time, so with the help of System Design Specialist, Daryl Quinn and a TC Hafford production team, their problem has been permanently fixed.
Homeowners in Wales, Maine had a 40' foundation wall with over 20' of diagonal cracks which were letting water seep in. The homeowners had previously tried repairing the cracked wall but their repair solution did not address the water intrusion. We poured a new StableLock Wall along the failing foundation wall to prevent any further shifting or cracking. StableLock is a poured concrete wall that stabilizes the home, and is a less costly repair than traditional methods like lifting the house. We also installed WaterGuard perimeter drainage system, and a TripleSafe sump pump, to manage the water intrusion. WaterGuard captures water and channels it directly to the TripleSafe, which then pumps it away from the home through an exterior buried discharge line.
