To achieve this goal, they hired us at TC Hafford Basement Systems and our crew got to work providing this homeowner the permanent solution they were looking for. To trap water leaking in through the foundation before it could reach the surface of the basement floor, WaterGuard piping was buried within the floor perimeter. The WaterGuard will capture the moisture and guide it to the newly installed TripleSafe sump system to remove the water from the basement. The water is pumped from the home through a PVC discharge line where it passes through an IceGuard pipe segment on the exterior of the home. This piece of specialty piping protects against blockages in the line such as ice and releases any built-up water before it is able to reach back into the interior of the basement to cause more flooding.

Now when it rains, this homeowner can expect their basement to remain dry with their new WaterGuard piping system in place. These waterproofing measures will keep this Forest City, ME basement dry for years into the future!

This homeowner living in Princeton, ME was in dire need of a waterproofing system below their home. The leakage had gotten so bad, the homeowner couldn’t even walk on their basement floor without covering their feet with water. When our installation crew got to work on the basement, they began by excavating the old concrete slab to replace it with new one. The new slab came equipped with WaterGuard piping laid around the exterior edge, but beneath the surface. These pipes will collect any moisture entering through the foundation from now-on and guide the collected water to the TripleSafe sump pump installed nearby. The TripleSafe will now force any water out of the out of the home through a PVC discharge line. Lastly, a CleanSpace wall system was put in surrounding the basement interior. This will brighten up the space as well as providing a barrier against any moisture that might enter through the walls of the basement.

Around the perimeter walls of the basement, WaterGuard was installed to channel the water to a TripleSafe Sump Pump with an UltraSump Battery Back-Up. The inclusion of the UltraSump Battery Back-Up is important to keep water out of the basement even during power outages, which tend to be very common in Maine during storms. Once the water gets to the TripleSafe Sump Pump, it has to go somewhere. A discharge line is connected and fitted with IceGuards to prevent freezing and then the line is buried. Water is taken away from the home where it is no longer a problem. To keep the discharge line from being clogged, a LawnScape Outlet is fitted to the end of the pipe to prevent anything from entering the discharge line. To take care of any humidity in the basement, a Sanidry Sedona dehumidifier is set up with an additional line attached to the TripleSafe Sump Pump so the homeowner doesn't have to go into the basement to empty buckets of water. 

Every time heavy rain comes through, this Machiasport, ME basement fills with a couple of inches of water, causing severe moisture issues for the homeowner. CleanSpace with Drainage Matting is laid on the ground to create a channel for water and an inorganic barrier between the CleanSpace and the outside elements. The CleanSpace Wall System was installed to create a full encapsulation system to keep moisture out of the space. The water has to go somewhere, so a SmartSump Sump Pump was installed to pump water through the new Exterior Buried Discharge Line. To keep the system running all year, even during the winter, IceGuard was installed on the Discharge Line to prevent ice from building up. Finally, a SaniDry Sedona was installed and connected to a condensate pump that drains to the SmartSump. Now, humidity will stay at a safe level, and the homeowner will never have to worry about emptying a bucket of water. The space is fully encapsulated, and the home’s health is protected.
