We helped Newport, Maine homeowners waterproof and insulate their damp basement. The original basement had dirt floors and fieldstone walls, both of which allow moisture to seep in. We poured a brand new slab floor with WaterGuard perimeter drainage system. CleanSpace Wall vapor barrier covers the field stone walls and ties into the WaterGuard to channel moisture directly to the drainage system. WaterGuard then funnels water to their new TripleSafe sump pump to be pumped away from the home. Spray Foam insulation was added to seal out air, as well as provide moisture and mold protection. Spray Foam immediately improves the home's energy efficiency.
A homeowner in Cushing reached out to TC Hafford Basement Systems to get help with their walkout basement that had water coming in. The homeowner had plans to finish the basement, and wanted to ensure it was dry before doing the renovations. Our System Design Specialist came up with a plan to install a SmartSump system with WaterGuard, as well as Spray Foam Insulation. The SmartSump was installed to capture water and pump it through the new Exterior Buried Discharge line. The Discharge line takes the water far from the home and with the installation of IceGuard, the entire system is protected against ice buildup in the winter. We identified that spray foam insulation from Doctor Energy Saver would be a great fit for this project as well. We applied the foam throughout the basement walls, and the results were outstanding. The insulation made a noticeable difference and helped prepare the space to be finished and enjoyed.
We recently helped Atkinson, Maine homeowners to improve the insulation in their basement so they no longer had to deal with cold floors in their home. Spray Foam insulation was installed on the walls and rim joists, filling all the gaps to create an air tight seal. Spray Foam is also water and mold resistant, making it a great option for basements and crawl spaces to act as a vapor barrier as well. Homeowners typically notice immediate improvements to their home energy after the Spray Foam is installed.
Saint George, ME homeowner was experiencing water intrusion in their basement, mostly where the walls met their old dirt and concrete floor. We poured a new slab with drainage matting, along with WaterGuard around the basement perimeter, to capture any water coming into the space. WaterGuard connects directly to a new TripleSafe sump pump to remove water away from the home through an exterior buried discharge line. The discharge line is protected from freezing up in the winter months with IceGuard.
A Tenants Harbor, Maine home was under contract to sell, but the crawl space was damp and had musty odors. The buyers were interested in encapsulating the crawl space to prevent any damage or smells. We installed our two-step encapsulation system, including drainage matting and a CleanSpace vapor barrier liner. CleanSpace seals out moisture, and because it is an inorganic material it also prevents mold growth. Spray Foam insulation was installed on the walls and rim joists to create an air tight seal, and provides immediate energy efficiency improvements.
